Two Staffordshire Police officers have won a misconduct appeal after the death of an arrested man who'd been Tasered.
Adrian McDonald, 34, died in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, in 2014 after complaining to police of breathing difficulties.
In September at a misconduct hearing, Insp Richard Bills and Sgt Jason Bromley were found guilty of failure in their duty of care.
They appealed against that ruling and their appeal has been upheld by an independent tribunal., external

More than £20,000 has been raised towards repairing a canal after a huge hole appeared in the embankment last month.
A section of the Shropshire Union Canal collapsed near Middlwich, causing water to drain into the River Wheelock.
Boats were left stranded and the canal and towpath were shut for repairs to be carried out.
The Canal and River trust says it will cost up to £3m to fix and is appealing for donations and volunteers to help., external

A dogs centre's been shut after staff suspected one animal may have a serious viral infection.
The Dogs Trust says one of the dogs at its Evesham Rehoming site , externalmight have canine distemper.
The disease can be serious, contagious and has no cure. , external
The trust says the animal's been quarantined while it waits for test results to come back and it's shut the centre as a precaution.

The Oscar-winning British short film The Silent Child could become a feature-length film.
It was written and directed by ex-Hollyoaks stars Rachel Shenton and Chris Overton, who both hail from Staffordshire.
The 20-minute film tells of a young deaf girl who struggles to communicate and last month won the Oscar for best live action short film.
At a screening of the movie last night in Stoke-on-Trent, which raised more than £2,500 for local charity dDeaflinks, the pair said they were in talks with a film studio about working on a longer version.

Two passengers have been cut free by firefighters from a coach which has collided with a barrier on the side of the M6.
It happened just before the slip road at junction 16 on the southbound side at around 15:55., external
Police said most of the passengers were off the coach and its doors were removed to release the pair, although their injuries aren't yet known., external

A lorry travelling northbound on the A49 in Ludlow Shropshire has struck a bridge and shed it's load of hay, closing part of the road in both directions.
Police are directing traffic at the scene, between the A4117 Henley Road and the B4361.

Two men have been arrested and five potential victims identified as part of an investigation into an alleged prostitution ring.
Police said two suspected brothels in Violet Street, Normanton, and Uttoxeter New Road, Derby, were visited this morning along with flats at Station Court, Burton.
One man was arrested in Burton while a second man was detained at the Uttoxeter New Road house.
The pair, aged 32 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to traffic with a view to exploitation and are in custody ahead of questioning.

Seven people arrested in connection with a spate of thefts of nitrous oxide cylinders at a hospital have been released under investigation.
The arrests had followed an attempted burglary at Cannock Chase Hospital earlier this month.
A woman, 47, and six men, aged between 20 and 39, all from the Norwich area, had been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

A cross-party task group is being set up in a bid to try and improve children's social care at Herefordshire Council.
It comes after a High Court judge criticised the authority last month for being "too slow" to ask family court judges to take control of cases and make long-term decisions about children’s living arrangements.
Mr Justice Keehan said it had caused "dreadful failures" in the handling of children in its care.
At the time, the authority had said it was "remedying past mistakes".
