    Work is under way to create two new nature reserves in one of the most picturesque parts of the Midlands.

    It's all part of long-term restoration plans for the Montgomery Canal in Shropshire, which was left abandoned in the 1940s.

    The canal runs from Frankton Junction in Shropshire to Newtown in Wales.

    Worcester Bosch has admitted a data breach in which "tens of thousands" of customers' private addresses have been sent to the wrong people - with some recipients receiving multiple emails containing data that is not their own.

    A customer service representative from the boiler firm, based in Worcester, admitted the breach was identified at an unspecified time yesterday and that a fix was applied to the "system error" yesterday afternoon.

    While admitting customers' private residential address had been made public, the customer service representative claimed no "sensitive" information - such as email addresses or phone numbers - were leaked.

    Ambulance crews were all dressed up and on stage to receive the Bafta for Best Factual Series last night.

    Production company Dragonfly TV said the series was a "love song to the NHS" and paid tribute to the "heroes in green".

    Two people have been arrested on suspicion of assault after a man suffered "nasty" head injuries during an incident in Rugby, police say., external

    The 22-year-old was taken to hospital after the assault at St Andrew's Church, Church Street in the town at about 06:00 on Saturday.

    A 20-year-old man and 19-year-old woman arrested have been released under investigation.

    The woman was also cautioned after being found in possession of cannabis.

    Shoppers fled the Eat Central food court on Saturday lunchtime following reports of a hammer attack.

    A 16-year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, has been charged with possessing two carving knives in the precinct.

    He was given conditional bail and is due before Wolverhampton Youth Court on Wednesday.

    The collapse of construction and services giant Carillion in January left thousands of suppliers unpaid.

    An investigation published today by MPs suggests that the firm leaned on small suppliers to delay paying its bills and tried to conceal the true scale of its debts.

    Frank Field, the chairman of the joint select committee inquiry into the firm's collapse, said the Wolverhampton firm had “displayed utter contempt for its suppliers”.

    “The company used its suppliers as a line of credit to shore up its fragile balance sheet, then in another of its accounting tricks ‘reclassified’ this borrowing to hide the true extent of its massive debt," he said.

    Wildlife is returning to a polluted river in Shropshire, that has run bright orange for years.

    The Serpentine which runs below the old brickworks at Trench Lock was turned orange by iron escaping from an old mineshaft.

    It is now recovering due to the installation of reed beds and leaky dams which help slow the water up, filter it and collect debris.

    Police are trying to trace the driver of a blue BMW that was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Coventry, in which a man in his 80s died.

    Neighbours found the man lying injured in Burnaby Road on Saturday after he was hit by the vehicle.

    Detectives said the wing mirror and possibly the windscreen of the car would have been damaged and are hoping anyone who's seen a car matching the description will come forward.

    More than 60 new foster families are needed in Staffordshire in the next year according to social services.

    There are more than 900 children in care in the county - 700 with foster families, in children’s homes, or adopted.

    Daniel Sinclair from The Fostering Network said the majority of children in care in the county were over 10 and there was a "particular need" for foster carers to look after teenagers.
