    A building in Hereford dating back to Georgian times has been taken over by a community group.

    The Friends of Castle Green have taken on the lease of The Pavilion, external for the next 25 years from Herefordshire Council.

    Both groups say they're pleased with the news and the community group's now planning to restore the structure.

    The leader of Shropshire Council says proposed changes to car parking charges in Shrewsbury could be altered.

    It comes after campaigners protested against a planned rise in some fees - arguing it would harm town centre trade.

    Shropshire Council says it’s the first time prices have changed since 2012 and it is considering responses to a consultation.

    A man shot in the eye in Stoke-on-Trent at the weekend was the subject of a targeted attack, police believe. , external

    They say the 29-year-old was seriously injured and is still being treated in hospital.

    Three youngsters were reported to be in "distress in the water" this afternoon, police say.

    The force says two made it safely out of the lake but one is still missing and water rescue teams are searching the area.

    Police say they are currently searching a lake in Stoke-on-Trent for a missing child.

    Emergency services say they were called to Westport Lake just before 17:00.

    Ch Insp John Owen, Stoke-on-Trent North police commander, tweeted, external that they believe the youngster "has gone into the water with friends".

    Thousands of pounds worth of computers and laptops have been stolen from a shop after burglars removed bricks from a wall to get inside.

    Police say the thieves broke into Manor Shop, Scholar Green, Cheshire, in the early hours of this morning.

    The owner's told BBC Radio Stoke that computers, laptops and iPad were taken from the shop on the A34 Congleton Road North.

    The mother of a Telford girl, abused by her martial arts teacher, has been speaking to BBC News about the ordeal.

    Julie's daughter was 14 years old when she was targeted by her martial arts coach Matthew Kendall, who went on to shoot himself when his abuse was uncovered.

    Her daughter has now been awarded damages by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.
