    They add that it is one of seven grass fires , externalthey are tackling this evening in Staffordshire.

    With the hot weather set to continue through the week, the fire service is urging people to take care in the countryside.

    More photos have been released by the fire service after a huge blaze destroyed a farm building near Birmingham.

    Plumes of thick black smoke from Holly Lane, Wishaw, near Sutton Coldfield, could be seen from Birmingham city centre, about 13 miles away.

    The operation was scaled back after two hours this afternoon, with remaining fire crews damping down the area.

  6. Two arrested on suspicion of murderpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 25 June 2018

    Two men have now been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found with multiple injuries at a property in Bedworth, police said.

    The man, in his thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene, at Croft Pool, Bedworth, after officers were called shortly after 11:45 said Warwickshire Police.

    A 37-year-old remains in police custody and a 27-year-old, has been released on police bail.

    Two other men, aged 39 and 40, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been released under investigation.

    The 39-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

    A man's been charged after a stabbing in Shrewsbury.

    A teenage boy has been arrest by police on suspicion of lashing out with a machete at a stranger in the centre of Birmingham, external.

    The force says the incident on 8 June was caught on CCTV and the 29-year-old victim suffered a superficial injury which didn't need hospital treatment.

    The 17-year-old, from the Smethwick area, was detained in Manchester yesterday and officers say he'll now have a mental health assessment.

    The fire on Holly Lane, outside Sutton Coldfield has now been surrounded, said West Midlands Fire Service.

    It currently has 50 firefighters on site, but will reducing that to about 30, it said.

    The fire involved farm buildings at the site, in an area of about 30m x 40m.

    The fire outside Sutton Coldfield, currently being tackled by 50 firefighters, has sent a plume of black smoke into the air that's visible from Birmingham.

    Firefighters are currently tackling another blaze - this time a large grass fire at the top of a beauty spot.

    They were called before 15:00 to the Mow Cop castle area in Staffordshire and say it involves a patch of around 40 x 50m.

    About 50 firefighters are at the scene of a fire at a farm in Sutton Coldfield.

    Crews were called to the site, on Holly Lane, Grove End, shortly after 14:15.
