    A moorland fire outside Leek in Staffordshire, which broke out at the weekend, is still burning although firefighting has been scaled down.

    In a separate incident four fire engines remain in Alton as crews continue to battle a "fast spreading" woodland fire off Red Road which started yesterday.

    Last night, four pumps were sent to a grass fire at Sneyd Hill Park, off Leek Road in Stoke-on-Trent. One crew remains at the scene.

    The Solihull-based company will take over DuProprio/ComFree, which owns and operates a commission-free real estate service network with an online offering.

    Purplebricks said the deal presents "attractive opportunities to quickly grow market share in Canada", where it hopes to capitalise on an "extensive buy-side revenue opportunity" across the country.

    More fish have been rescued from a river as the hot weather continues to dry it out.

    The Environment Agency has already rescued more than 130 trout and salmon from the River Teme in north Herefordshire.

    A ward at a Staffordshire hospital will stay open this month after admissions to the area's main hospital rose to an all-time high., external

    The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, which runs the Royal Stoke University Hospital, says it thought demand for beds would have reduced by now, after the winter pressures.

    Over the colder months, three wards at Bradwell Hospital in Newcastle-under-Lyme were used to meet the extra demand.

    However, the trust says that, despite plans to shut the wards again, one will now stay open until the end of July as admissions have not dropped as much as forecast.

    People are being urged not to try and bring food or water to firefighters battling the ends of a large grass fire in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

    The blaze started on Saturday between Thorncliffe and Shawfields, near Leek, and the fire service says it's under control, but work is expected to continue throughout the day.

    At the weekend, firefighters thanked people for their offers of help, but said the area was "too dangerous for us to take up these offers, external".

    Has Cadbury run out of new ideas? It's turning to the general public to create its next chocolate bar.

    The Birmingham-based firm has launched a "Go Madbury for Cadbury" marketing campaign inviting people to design the next Dairy Milk bar.

    You can add up to three ingredients and must come up with a memorable name.

    Sadly there's no cash prize for winners, only a visit to the Bournville Factory to see their creation being made and, presumably, the satisfaction of knowing they've helped add to Cadbury's profits.
