The club said it met with the company last week to express its "frustration and disappointment" at the lack of the home kit.
"We are confident that they are working hard to expediate this process where they can," said chief executive Dave Boddy, "and will remain in dialogue with them on this issue".
Arni Pjetursson from Nike said: "On behalf of Nike I would like to apologise for the delay in getting the home shirt back into stock and would like to assure you we are doing everything we can to resolve this issue as quickly as possible."
The shirts are expected to be available in September, it said.
Part of the ring road in Wolverhampton was closed for a time after a tram and a car were involved in a crash, after traffic lights were reportedly out of sync.
One woman was taken to hospital after the crash, which happened shortly before 08:50.
The Express & Star newspaper reported traffic was blocked on the Bilston Road roundabout for around 30 minutes, external, although nobody was trapped.
Travel firm Inrix said it was alerted by Wolverhampton traffic control that traffic lights were out of sync at the junction about an hour and a half before the crash.
It is not clear whether the two incidents are connected.
A man arrested after police were called to a brawl at a wedding party at Edgbaston Cricket Ground has been released pending further investigations.
A 38-year-old man suffered a leg injury and was taken to hospital on Saturday.
West Midlands Police said officers were called to a "report of a disorder between a large group of attendees at a wedding party".
A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault.

Shropshire swimmer Freya Anderson has set her sights on an Olympic gold in Japan in 2020 after an amazing result at the European Championships in Glasgow.
The 17-year-old Ellesmere College student, external came away with four medals - two of them gold, in the women's 4x200m freestyle swim and 4x100 mixed medley relay.
Security procedures at Coventry Cathedral are being reviewed after two "drunk" men scaled the building, and had to be rescued.
Police officers worked with fire crews and ambulance workers to free the two after their "late night drunken climbing spree" said West Midlands Police.
The cathedral said it took security "very seriously" after the two were arrested for trespass.

Shrewsbury Town Council says it's not fair that the people who keep the town centre clean are being attacked by beggars.
Street sweepers, grass cutters and toilet cleaners have been verbally assaulted, with one member of staff physically assaulted, ending up in hospital.
There have been reports recently that so-called "commuter beggars" have been arriving in the Shrewsbury from other areas, according to town clerk Helen Ball.

A motorcyclist has died after a crash involving a van in Warwickshire on Saturday.
It happened on the B4455 Fosse Way at about 09:45.
The two vehicles are understood to have crashed at the junction with Brook lane and Moreton Morrell lane, said police.
The biker, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital, but later died.
The driver of the van was unhurt.
A boat was used as a getaway vehicle by suspected robbers after a building site was targeted in Coventry, police said.
The Coventry and Solihull response team tweeted , externalthat officers had "barged onto the scene" and the robbers' plans had been left "high and dry".
One person was detained, they said, "but the Insp wouldn't let us make him walk the plank!"

A prisoner from Stafford received 57p compensation for a lost TV magazine, according to the Ministry of Justice.
A Freedom of Information request also reveals that a prisoner at HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire was given £8.19 for food damaged "due to lockdown" - another prisoner was paid £150 for a damaged stereo .
Prisoners across England received compensation for a variety of belongings in 2017-18, with payouts ranging from less than a £1 to £169.
An art exhibition will be held at a homeless shelter in Wolverhampton which was forced to shut over the summer.
Church Shelter had to close because of a shortage of volunteers, it said.
It is hoped events like this one on Friday will attract the 60 to 70 volunteers the facility needs to stay open permanently.
Flowers left at Royal Stoke University Hospital in memory of dead midwife Samantha Eastwood have been moved, the hospital says.
It thanked those who left the tributes after the body of the midwife was found on 4 August, eight days after she was reported missing.
A rose bush was also delivered by Barnsley Hospital in South Yorkshire in a mark of solidarity.
