    A Kidderminster-based record label, which supports local musicians, has landed a distribution deal with Universal.

    The development group, which is government funded, has recently teamed up with Ricky Wilson of the Kaiser Chiefs, who's now one of their patrons, alongside Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant.

    Police are appealing for information after a man was hit in the head several times outside a Rugby pub.

    The 52-year-old man was struck allegedly by another man outside The Wheeltapper pub in Railway Terrace, Rugby, at around 20:30 BST on Saturday 25 August, Warwickshire Police said.

    PC Danielle Bristow described the altercation as a " sickening attack that left the victim unconscious".

    Roads surrounding an area of the Staffordshire Moorlands have reopened following a 200-acre fire, external earlier this month

    The Staffordshire Wildlife Trust says entry to the Roaches site itself remains restricted due to safety concerns.

    Visitors are now able to gain access, external via the Roaches Gate to Lower and Upper Tier and boulder area.

    It took the fire service several days to put the blaze out, which was found to have been started by an out of control camp fire.

    The wildlife trust has previously said that the area around the Roaches will take years to recover from the fire.

    A Stafford man remains in a stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in the town on Friday evening.

    A 17-year-old boy from Wolverhampton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and released under investigation.

    A hotel in Wolverhampton has said it won't be able to accept overnight guests for two to three weeks after health officials found legionella bacteria in samples of water.

    The Ramada Park Hall Hotel was served a prohibition notice on Thursday after the discovery.

    Staff have since been told by the city council it can't use the water supply until remedial work has been done.

    A statement on the hotel's Facebook page said staff had worked around the clock to ensure planned functions could still go ahead.

    The cap on the number of births at Walsall Manor Hospital is to be partially relaxed after two years, the hospital trust has said.

    There could be no more than 4,200 births at the hospital over the last two years.

    It was introduced in 2016 by Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust and Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group after considering "safe staffing levels and an increased demand for neonatal cots".

    However, Walsall hospital bosses now say "close monitoring" and "careful consideration" has led to the decision to partially relax it.

    Low risk pregnant women will be offered the choice of returning to Walsall Manor Hospital if they prefer from 1 September.

    From 1 October 2018 the Trust said it will also start accepting new bookings from six GP practices.

    A man's been charged with arson with intent to endanger life following a house fire in Crewe on Saturday.

    Firefighters were called to the house on Stoneley Road shortly after 07:30.

    Cheshire Police said there were no reports of any injuries, but the fire caused substantial damage to the property.

    The 27-year-old has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Chester Crown Court next month.

    People living in Coseley have claimed that they have been "forgotten" by the council and that the area has become a "dumping ground" for the Dudley borough.

    They are waiting to learn whether council plans for a traveller site will get the green light while a charity now wants to open a 65-bed homeless shelter on the site of a former care home.

    Conservative Dudley council leader Patrick Harley has called the claims "rubbish".

    About £40,000 worth of cannabis has been seized in a dawn raid in Solihull, police have said.

    West Midlands Police officers carried out the raid in the Lyndon area of the town earlier today.

    One man was arrested and remains in police custody in relation to the raid, officers said.
