The plans for the construction of three blocks of two-storey apartments with 15 flats, on an open grassed area sloping upwards from Dibdale Road to Salop Street, had led to objections from residents and local businesses.

The scheme was expected to be decided upon in July but after reviewing the concerns, councillors adjourned their decision to visit the site and see first hand objectors’ fears.

A final decision is now expected when the application comes before councillors at their meeting on 11 September.
