    Once Upon A Time in Birmingham: Women Who Dared to Dream, is aimed at children aged 11-16, and features stories of athletes, campaigners, pioneers, artists and medics.

    Author Louise Palfreyman produced the illustrated book in conjunction with city female-run publisher The Emma Press and Writing West Midlands aiming to "inspire the city's next generation of female achievers, leaders and pioneers."

    A launch event, external will be held at The REP's studio theatre on Saturday at 14:00.

    A tourist information centre in Malvern is going to be moved under plans to save money which will result in reduction of staff.

    Malvern Hill District Council says it's got to save £1.45m from its budget by 2021 and, as part of that, wants to relocate the centre to a parish office at Lyttelton Well., external

    The local authority says demand for a physical centre has fallen, with more people going online to plan their days out, but says it's committed to tourism and wants to keep a face-to-face site.

    It says negotiations are at an early stage with staff at the centre and, if a deal is reached, the change would happen early next year.

    The BBC understands that talks are currently taking place in an attempt to save the Birmingham-based cafe business, Patisserie Valerie.

    The cafe chain is fighting for survival after revealing on Wednesday it had uncovered "significant, and potentially fraudulent, accounting irregularities".

    Patisserie Holdings is 37%-owned by entrepreneur Luke Johnson, and it's understood he's not in a position to personally provide the cash needed immediately.

    An update is expected this afternoon or Saturday morning.

    Stores continue to trade.
