    Police are continuing an investigation after the body of a man was discovered in the Black Country early on Sunday morning.

    It is "unclear" how the 20-year-old, who was found shortly after midnight near George Avenue, Rowley Regis, sustained fatal injuries, police said.

    Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious has been urged to contact West Midlands Police.

    Officers at West Midlands Police have clubbed together to buy new clothes for a vulnerable elderly man.

    They had found Francis Tracey in his home in the Stechford area of Birmingham wearing tattered clothes, and with a badly infected hand.

    The partially deaf man also had no heating or electricity and no food to eat

    The officers have bought him a new outfit, as well as boots and a coat, while he recovers in hospital, and also contacted local agencies to discuss safeguarding issues.

    Almost a third of all deaths and serious injuries on roads in the West Midlands last year involved people riding bikes or motorcycles, figures show.

    Research by road safety charity Brake found that on average a cyclist or motorcyclist was killed or seriously injured every hour on British roads.

    A new bike safety campaign is being launched asking drivers to slow down and pay more attention at junctions.

    There are plans to restore a canal in Stoke-on-Trent that dates back more than 200 years.

    The Burslem Branch Canal opened in 1805 and was closed in 1961.

    Volunteers have been working on trying to restore it since 2014.

    Plans include the construction of a lit footpath, which would provide an off-road route from Middleport into the heart of Burslem Town Centre, with work expected to start in the new year.

    Three West Midlands police officers are due to face a misconduct hearing in connection with a man who died while in custody.

    Kingsley Burrell, 29, died from cardiac arrest in March 2011, four days after being detained by police.

    Last year, the three police officers were cleared of perjury and perverting the course of justice in connection with the case.
