    A Cheshire MP says she is going to back Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit deal as she wants to look after the needs of future generations.

    Five days of debate are taking place ahead of a vote next Tuesday evening.

    The deal negotiated by the UK and the EU has to be backed by a majority of MPs if it is to come into force.

    The prime minister faces opposition from MPs on all sides - including both the Leave and Remain wings of her own party - who argue that better deals could be available or that the public should have the final say in another referendum.

    But the Conservative MP for Eddisbury, Antoinette Sandbach, says she's planning to back the deal as she thinks "it's my responsibility to consider the future for young people in my constituency", adding that no deal "would be a dreadful outcome".

    A police officer was hurt when a force car was "rammed" as a suspected county lines drugs gang was pursued.

    West Midlands Police said one car was pulled over on Belgrave Middleway and officers found two machetes and cash.

    Officers also tried to pull over a Vauxhall Astra on Bristol Road, but according to the force it rammed a police car and sped off before crashing on Pershore Road.

    Police say seven men, from Birmingham and Leicester, were arrested on suspicion of offences including weapons possession, money laundering and dangerous driving.

    The hurt officer suffered a foot injury and was given hospital treatment before being discharged.

    An elderly man has what police call potentially life-changing injuries after his mobility scooter crashed with a car.

    It happened on Lichfield Street, Stoke-on-Trent, at about 13:00.

    The hurt man, 81,sustained a head injury, according to the Staffordshire force.

    A Worcester nightclub owner was found guilty earlier of offering to supply cocaine.

    At Warwick Crown Court yesterday, Darren Pinches, 52, had been cleared of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old inside Bushwackers on New Year's Day 2017, and cleared of administering a substance with intent to overpower.

    He was also cleared of supplying cocaine but found guilty of possessing the drug.

    A man has appeared in court accused of a number of modern slavery offences.

    Ermal Lushaj, 33, from Abbey Street, Rugby, is charged with three counts of arranging or facilitating the travel of another person with a view to exploitation; three counts of holding a person in slavery or servitude; and one count of assault.

    Warwickshire Police said he was arrested after officers visited a house on Abbey Street and a car wash last month.

    Mr Lushaj was remanded in custody to re-appear at Warwick Crown Court on 3 January.

    The force says 1,600 officers are wearing them.

    It says the BSc in Emergency and Disaster Management is aimed at people wanting a career in the emergency services, military, local government or health and aid agencies.
