    There's a new exhibition in Coventry celebrating the 40th anniversary of the music movement known as 2-Tone which began in the city.

    Among items on show at Coventry Music Museum is a car said to feature parts of the original vehicle from the video for Ghost Town - the number one single by city band The Specials.

    The organ on which original member Jerry Dammers wrote it is also there.

    Dammers, along with others from the original line-up, Lynval Golding and Neville Staple, have visited the attraction.

    Director Pete Chambers said "so many great people have come forward to make this happen, working for free for us".

    A crowdfunding effort to help fund the museum is set to be launched this year.

    Mr Chambers said: "It would be awful to have the City of Culture in 2021 and not have the museum here to help celebrate."

    Is this how things will look at Worcester's railway arches? Details have emerged of a plan to regenerate the site for creative work spaces and festivals.

    A sum of £3m towards the project has been awarded by the government.

    The site's transformation into a hub for artist workshops and studios is a long-held ambition for the city, according to the local council's deputy leader Adrian Gregson who says 67 jobs could be created as a result.

    The scheme will also link Foregate Street railway station to the river, and Mr Gregson has promised to work with businesses already there.

    He said it was important the government was "recognising the importance of cultural and creative industries as an economic driver".

    Historic buildings in Telford could be spoiled by a proposed business complex, opponents say.

    A former windmill, known as Hadley Castle due to its turrets, stands at the corner of Hadley Park East and Silkin Way, next to a Grade II listed hotel.

    Shrewsbury-based Morris and Company has applied to build six light industrial buildings on land just north of them.

    Hadley Park House Hotel has objected to the plans, saying the project would be "far too close", but developers say a green “buffer zone” will be established between its site and the hotel and windmill.

    Shrewsbury Town's chief executive Brian Caldwell says the FA Cup run has given a lift to everyone at the club - not just the players.

    The 3-2 win over Stoke City followed wins over Salford City and Scunthorpe and set up a fourth round tie with neighbours Wolves.

    Fans have been queuing to get tickets for the game and Caldwell says "everyone has a spring in their step" and that staff are "always conscious of the previous result".

    Ouch! Here's a picture from the RSPCA showing a fox dangling from a metal fence after a spike went through its leg.

    It happened in the garden of a Coventry home.

    The animal became impaled after trying to jump over the railing in Tile Hill Lane on Sunday morning.

    The charity said the fox was lucky to be alive as the pole missed its vital arteries by millimeters. A gun pellet was also found embedded in his body.

    He's said to be doing well at a rehabilitation centre and will be released back into the wild when fully recovered.

    The former boyfriend of a teenage mother thought by police to have been murdered 16 years ago has told an inquest he had nothing to do with her disappearance.

    There’s been no confirmed sighting of Natalie Putt since she left her home in Lower Gornal, Dudley, in September 2003, and a body has never been found.

    Coroner Zafar Siddique in Oldbury recorded an open verdict.

    Giving evidence at today's hearing, Kevin McCallum, the father of Ms Putt's child, said that he had been interviewed by police about the 17-year-old's disappearance on a number of occasions, and at one point was arrested on suspicion of murder.

    He said she was a “lovely, bubbly, feisty girl” but that at the time of her disappearance they were “on a break” from their relationship.

    He was asked by Mr Siddique “did you play any part in the disappearance of Natalie Putt?” to which he replied “no”.

    A Stoke-on-Trent man has been sentenced to six years in prison after he admitted causing the death of a motorcyclist on the A500 in May 2017.

    Staffordshire Police said James Virgo, 33 and from Chilworth Grove, was driving at more than 70mph in a 40mph area while under the influence of cocaine, cannabis, nordiazepam and diazepam.

    The motorcyclist, 65-year-old Stephen Philips from Stoke-on-Trent, died at the scene from multiple head injuries. His bike was in a collision with Virgo's Citroen C2 and another vehicle.

    Virgo was sentenced at Stoke Crown Court earlier, having admitted his guilt at an earlier hearing.

    Three men found guilty of murdering five people when they blew up a shop in Leicester have been jailed for life.

    Among the trio is Coventry man Hawkar Hassan (pictured centre) who has been ordered to serve a minimum of 33 years.

    They destroyed a supermarket - and a flat above - as part of a £300,000 insurance scam.
