    Six "vintage" tractors valued at more than £100,000 have been stolen from a farm, say police.

    Officers said the "distinctive" vehicles were taken from the farm in Yoxall, east Staffordshire, some time between 16:00 on Friday and midday on Sunday.

    Det Sgt Craig Wagstaff from Staffordshire Police said: “The tractors taken are very distinctive, and we hope that by sharing these photos it will remind any members of the public who may have seen them being moved."

    Police have renewed their appeal , externalfor information over the death of a driver near Shrewsbury.

    The 42-year-old driver died when his red Suzuki Swift came off the road and hit a brick wall on the B5062 at Sundorne Castle near Shrewsbury Rugby Club, police said.

    The man was confirmed dead at the scene shortly after 02:00 on 7 January.

    A West Mercia Police spokesman said it is known he left an address in Admaston, Telford, just before 22:00 the previous evening and was expected home in Shrewsbury.

    "He was reported missing by a family member when he did not return," he said.

    The crash happened some time between 21:50 and 23:30.

  16. Stolen car reversed into woman on drivewaypublished at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2019

    A man has been assaulted and a woman was hit by a car following a burglary in Sedgley.

    Burglars managed to break into a home through a rear door at about 21:00 on Saturday.

    West Midlands Police said, externalthe two men believed to have been involved were chased down the street by the home owner.

    The 38-year-old man was assaulted and suffered a shoulder injury as the pair escaped.

    A third burglar who had the keys to an Audi S4 on the driveway then reversed into a family member who tried to stop him stealing the car.

    The 60-year-old suffered cuts to her head and legs and a hand injury. The car then hit another passing vehicle while trying to escape and the driver made off.

    DC David Laver said: "This was a particularly distressing incident for the two people who were hurt."

    A driver who killed an off-duty ambulance technician and seriously hurt his wife has been jailed.

    Paul Bird, 45, who pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, was jailed for four and half years at Worcester Crown Court.

    Bird, of Ludlow Ave, Worcester, was travelling above the speed limit when his Lexus collided with Gavin and Alison Hunt's car, police said. He also admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

    Mr Hunt, who worked for West Midlands Ambulance Service, and his wife suffered extensive injuries in the crash in Clows Top on 2 February.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service's head Anthony Marsh said: "This was a truly terrible event which has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of Gavin's family, friends and colleagues who are still trying to come to terms with what has happened."
