An author from Birmingham says he's published a series of children's books to try and tackle a lack of ethnic diversity in children's reading.
Stephen Bryant wrote the stories featuring characters of African and Caribbean descent after he says he noticed there was a lack of representation in primary school story books.
Last year, the Centre for Literacy and Primary Education charity said children's books should feature more ethnic minority characters in central roles.
Quote MessageI go into book stores on a regular basis and I don't see any with black faces or Asian children and that was something that put me off as well. If I'm going to stores and I don't see that then that doesn't give me confidence that I can approach these publishers."
