    Officers have been granted extra time to question a man arrested on suspicion of murder in Coventry.

    Officers were called to a property in Vincent Street in Spon End in the early hours of Sunday after reports of "disorder".

    Initially police said a 23-year-old man was found dead at the property, they have since revised the age to 26.

    A 29-year-old man been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody, West Midlands Police said.

    Bin workers in Birmingham will meet later today to discuss a deal which looks to end a dispute with Birmingham City Council.

    Unite members have been working to rule since December over payments made to non-striking bin staff at the GMB union.

    The council's cabinet cabinet met on Friday to note progress that had been made in talks with Unite and Unison, with a final report due to be discussed by councillors next Friday.

    Unite assistant general secretary Howard Beckett, said the offer, believed to be worth about £3,500, will be put to members "with a recommendation to accept".

    "I would be hopeful that they decide to accept it, and so end the dispute," he said.

    Birmingham City has apologised to Aston Villa's Jack Grealish after he was hit by a man who came on to the pitch during Sunday's derby.

    City say they will ban the attacker for life, external.

    A man was immediately apprehended following the 10th-minute incident in which a man ran on to the pitch and approached Grealish from behind.

    "We deplore the behaviour of the individual who committed this act," the club said in a statement.

    Paul Mitchell, aged 27, of Rubery, Worcestershire, has been charged with encroachment on to the pitch and assault and is set to appear in court later.

    A papillon named Dylan has been crowned Best in Show at the 2019 Crufts dog show.

    The winning canine beat six other finalists to claim the show's top honour on Sunday at the NEC in Birmingham.

    Dylan, owned by Kathleen Roosens, was also named winner of the Toy group earlier in the four-day dog show.

    About 27,000 dogs were expected to attend the event with more than 200 different breeds vying for a place in the final.

    A man found stabbed in Earlsdon, Coventry, has suffered potentially life-changing injuries, police said.

    Officers were called to an address in Osborne Road late on Friday.

    The man was found at a nearby medical centre before being taken to hospital for treatment.

    A firearm along with bullets, drugs and a knife were found in a vehicle after police were called to reports of anti-social behaviour at a Birmingham cemetery.

    "A number of persons ran on seeing police", West Midlands Police tweeted, external, after officers were called to deal with complaints about off-road bikers at Witton Cemetery, Moor Lane.

    The items were found in a bag during a search of the vehicle, it said.

    Two people have been arrested and a car and two bikes recovered.

    Three men are set to appear in court later charged with drugs and firearms offences after a number of search warrants were carried out.

    Two 27-year-olds were arrested after a vehicle was stopped on Holbrooks Lane, Coventry, on 6 March and charged with conspiring to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life as well as supplying cocaine and amphetamine, police said. , external

    As part of the investigation a 22-year-old, arrested on Friday, was charged with possessing a firearm.

    Detectives remain at the scene, which is off Meadow Street, while investigations continue.

    A man is set to appear in court later charged with attacking Aston Villa player Jack Grealish on the pitch.

    The midfielder was hit by a man who came on to the pitch about 10 minutes into Sunday's derby at Birmingham City.

    Paul Mitchell, aged 27, of Rubery, Worcestershire, has been charged with encroachment on to the pitch and assault, West Midlands Police said.

    Villa captain Grealish sat on the St Andrew's turf before being helped up by players from both teams and was able to continue.

    His side went on to win 1-0, with Grealish scoring the winner in the 67th minute.
