She, Hayley Lacey and Kerry Davies looked after a child known as Baby K, who died four days after being born at the Princess Royal Hospital.

None of the three midwives are accused of causing the death of the baby, but the standard of care they provided is being looked into.

The NMC says Ms Jones should have alerted a doctor when her patient's blood pressure was high.

It also believes her and Ms Lacey should have communicated better.

Ms Jones admitted that "a poor handover meant that observations were missed" while Ms Davies says she should have carried out a check on the baby's heart rate but denies this was misconduct.

    The hearing continues.

We've found a solidarity in defence and a bit of belief in that because we've got great defenders, great players that can work hard, that can do everything that you need them to do and, for a period of time, we weren't solid defensively, we were giving away goals that we shouldn't and ultimately led to it being difficult to win games."
