    High-end fashion chain LK Bennett has been bought out of administration, saving 325 jobs.

    However, 15 of the retailer's stores are not included in the deal, including a Birmingham branch, and will close, leading to the loss of 110 jobs.

    LK Bennett has been bought by Byland UK which was set up by Rebecca Feng, who runs the company's Chinese franchises.

    The sale includes the company's headquarters, 21 stores and all of its concessions. The amount paid has not been disclosed.

    A church cafe which had a charity collection box containing £144 stolen a week ago has now raised more than three times that amount, after making an appeal online.

    The cafe's owner, Bill Sewell, was raising the money for Syrian refugees on the Greek island of Samos by selling cookbooks and including money from the staff's tips jar.

    Two days after setting up a crowdfunding page, the cafe, which is based at All Saints Church in Hereford has now raised £512.

    It says the Financial Conduct Authority's interest follows its admission to creditors in late 2017 that it had overstated its earnings, breached covenants on a retail bond and its auditors, PwC, quit.

    The FCA and Wasps have been approached for a comment.

    Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust says it accepts there was a failure to follow national guidlelines in the case of a Telford baby who died four days after being born at the Princess Royal Hospital in August 2015.

    Head of Women and Children’s Care, Jo Banks, said the hospital was "extremely sorry".

    But she also pointed out there was no suggestion that "that a chance to save the life of the baby was lost".

    The trust has also been setting out the steps it has taken to improve its maternity care, after cautions were handed out to two of its midwives.

    It includes extra training in fetal heart monitoring and regular meetings between maternity staff to discuss care of mothers and babies.

    An audience member has described how he was locked in Birmingham's Old Rep for an hour whilst police investigated a report of people with machetes outside.

    Jonathan Alderslade said immediately after the one-woman show by actress Emily Atack the theatre manager "asked us all to remain in our seats, and explained that the theatre was currently in lockdown due to an ongoing incident".

    "He explained that the doors were locked and all external and front of house lights were switched off to make the theatre appear empty," he added.

    West Midlands Police confirmed officers were called to reports of blade-carrying people at the venue, but found no sign of suspicious activity.

    The audience was released after about an hour with the manager receiving a "well deserved" round of applause from the audience, Mr Alderslade added.

    "It was a scary experience and the lack of police presence did nothing to calm anyone down."
