    We're still waiting for the last result to be declared in Dudley and it couldn't be tighter with the overall totals standing at 36 for Labour and 35 for the Conservatives.

    If the Tories take the last seat, leader Patrick Harley's confirmed to me, external that they will then use their casting vote to deliver a Conservative mayor and leader in the event of a tie.

    The next mayor was going to be Labour's Hilary Bills but Mr Harley said: ""Politics is brutal sometimes."

    She tweeted that about 150 votes had gone missing between verification and counting in the St George's ward.

    Votes are being recounted for a second time in the Brierley Hill ward , externalin the Black Country town.

    Going into this election, in which a third of seats were being voted on, the Conservatives held 35 to Labour's 36.

    So far, the Tories have made two gains, but there are still five wards to declare.

    The Conservatives have lost overall control of Worcester City Council, external.

    With a third of seats being voted on this election, and the Conservatives holding a slim overall lead from the last time people went to the polls, they can't now get an overall majority.

    With one ward to be declared, we have totals of 16 Conservative councillors, 15 Labour and three Green Party members.

    A significant declaration in Dudley Borough - or 'knife-edge Dudley' as we're dubbing it.... A Conservatives gain.

    Remember, the party was holding 35 seats to Labour's 36 before the election.

    A third of seats were voted on this year, and most so far have been holds for each party. But Tories have made a breakthrough in Brockmoor and Pensnett.
