    Two minor injuries units that closed for five months to easy winter pressures have reopened.

    The units in Ross-on-Wye and Leominster, in Herefordshire, closed in December.

    Wye Valley NHS Trust said the closures allowed them to redeploy experienced nursing staff to look after patients needing urgent care in Hereford.

    Both units are now open from 08:30 until 17:30 Monday to Friday.

    A suspected drink driver crashed into a electricity sub-station last night, plunging parts of Telford into darkness and leaving engineers to "fix the mess".

    Police said, external a roadside breathalyser showed him to be almost twice the limit.

    The driver was arrested at the scene in Ketley.

    This polling station has popped up in a caravan outside someone's home in High Offley, Staffordshire.

    While voters in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire can make a visit to the pub to cast their vote, with the Fox Inn at Loxley being a designated polling station.

    The rules on voting are different this year in some areas, with a trial of voter ID in 10 local authorities in England.

    Everyone involved in elections in the West Midlands, however, can vote as usual, and do not need to take their polling card or any proof of identity with them - although a polling card can make it easier.

    In the West Midlands a third of seats will be contested at local authorities including Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

    All-out elections are being held in Herefordshire, Stoke-on-Trent and Telford & Wrekin.

    Polls close at 22:00 tonight and we'll be bringing you all the results as they happen in the early hours of Friday.

    A Warwickshire company is trialing a futuristic suit, which, it says, will help workers life heavy objects.

    RS Components said it's become one of the first companies in Europe to invest in exoskeleton suits at its Nuneaton warehouse to minimise the stress of manual goods handling for workers.

    The mechanical suit helps the wearer lift objects easier, reducing compression at the base of the spine by about 60%, it said.

    The trial is currently being run using two suits, but the company says it's looking at widening the trial.

    A criminal investigation should be carried out into leaked information from the National Security Council, says the deputy leader of the Labour.

    The South Staffordshire MP Gavin Williamson has strenuously denied he leaked information regarding the Chinese tech giant Huawei.

    West Bromwich MP, Tom Watson said that Mr Williamson has "a right to clear his name" and the best way to do that was through a criminal inquiry.

    "This is about the law applying equally to everyone. We have had very high profile civil servants going to jail for breaching the Official Secrets Act," he said.

    A woman has suffered serious injuries after an incident on a Birmingham city centre street.

    Paramedics were called to reports of an assault on Bull Street shortly before 21:40 on Wednesday.

    She was treated at the scene, before being taken to hospital, said the ambulance service.

    The road remains closed with some disruption to travel in the area possible, said the city council.
