Health bosses in Cheshire are aiming to cut £20m from their budgets by next March.
That's the proposal from both NHS Vale Royal and NHS South Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) which have the same governing body and cover the middle and south of the county.
The NHS has told all its health organisations to be more efficient while still delivering the same quality of service.
The two CCGs are also planning to merge with East Cheshire CCG and West Cheshire CCG next year, subject to approval from doctors.
Quote MessageOften the care that is better quality is not necessarily more expensive – often quality care is more efficient care. If you can put in a system whereby someone is seen once rather than multiple times and it is better quality, then it will be more efficient.”

The Port Vale manager John Askey has said he doesn't want to travel too far for their pre-season games this summer.
They've already announced they'll play Fleetwood at Vale Park in July and he explained, "we'll do our best to get the best balance and hopefully supporters don't get too far to travel".
Askey is looking to play a Premier League team if possible and a couple from the lower divisions, but said "there's enough clubs in this area".

A 150-year-old school's going to close this summer after a council said it was financially unsustainable.
The Henry Prince First School, in Mayfield, Staffordshire, near Ashbourne, has space for 75 pupils, but currently has just 20.
Staffordshire County Council's approved proposals from the school's governing body to shut it, with its financial deficit forecast to rise above £400,00 by 2021-22.
Members of the local parish council called the decision premature, but the county council said there was no alternative but to close it from the end of August.
Traffic was disrupted for two hours in Bishop's Castle over proposals to reduce services.

Warwickshire coach Jim Troughton said his injury-hit side played some "pretty poor shots under pressure" and that they were lacking the experienced players who could "take the heat out of sessions".
The Bears were bowled out for just 109 in their second innings against Hampshire, to lose by 314 runs.
Warwickshire were missing Sam Hain, Ian Bell, Olly Stone and Liam Norwell - Troughton said that left his less experienced players "exposed together" and having to "fend for themselves".
"How they keep coming back after these knock-backs is going to be the making of them or the breaking of them," he added.
