    A motorcyclist's been seriously hurt in a crash with a tractor on the border of Staffordshire and Cheshire.

    Police said the crash happened on the B5500 in Balterley, between Crewe and Newcastle-under-Lyme, just before 11:00, at the junction with Back Lane.

    The ambulance service said the man was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

    Coventry-based Wasps, formed in partnership with the rugby club, have been champions since their debut season in 2017, but this time around have lost both home and away to their Manchester opponents.

    The grand final is being held at London's Copper Box Arena from 17:30 on Saturday, following the third-place play-off.

    A Staffordshire rail users group says timetable changes being introduced this weekend are bad news for passengers wanting to travel to London.

    While some routes are getting more trains, the North Staffs Rail Promotion Group says people using West Midlands Railways services from Stoke-on-Trent will have to change at Stafford or face a much longer journey.

    The rail operator says increased demand on the Trent Valley lines, and an inability to have more than four carriages per train, have partly caused this new timetable and it's working to fix any issues passenger groups have.

    No-one will face criminal charges over the death of a fox that died while a fox hunt was held in a village, police have said.

    Cheshire Police started their investigation of the incident, which happened in Church Minshull, near Crewe, in November.

    But, after talking with prosecutors, they've said there's not enough evidence to charge anyone with deliberate and intentional hunting under the 2004 Hunting Act. , external

    The force adds that it's still probing several other cases from the last hunting season.

    Earlier this year, protesters demanded tougher police action against fox hunts.

    Cheshire Constabulary has never successfully prosecuted anyone for illegal hunting.

    A woman is believed to be trapped in a house in Hereford where a fire has been burning since lunchtime.

    About 30 firefighters are at the property in Cobhall Close, Redhill since being called at about 12:30.

    Plumes of smoke can be seen from about half a mile away.

    Neighbours described how an elderly man managed to escape the flames, along with a dog.

    It's thought a woman who lives in the property is unaccounted for, and the ambulance service said crews were still at the scene.

    Birmingham City Council’s planning committee will be asked to approve a programme of works to the Grade II* listed property including asbestos removal and replacement of roof lights, guttering and wallpaper.

    Highbury, in Moseley, was built in 1878 for famous Birmingham politician and former mayor Joseph Chamberlain, who lived their until he died in 1914.

    Historic England has recently placed it on its At Risk register.

    Post-mortem examinations are going to be carried out today after the bodies of a man and a woman were found by police.

    They say they're treating the deaths of the 27-year-old man and 49-year-old woman as "unexplained".

    Six fire crews are now fighting the house fire in Hereford this afternoon which the fire service has described, external as "severe".

    They've been at Cobhall Close since being called at 12:35 and have been trying to stop the blaze spreading along the row of terraced homes.

    Photos from one eyewitness appear to show the roof of one house has collapsed.

    The fire service hasn't been able to say if anyone's been hurt, but eyewitness Stacey Smith, said everyone was safely out of the building.

    Because it's a mid-terrace building, they say they're also working to stop it spreading.
