    A one-way traffic system is in operation until 18:00 BST on Waverley Road and Tennyson Road, for vehicles travelling to the Eid celebrations, external.

    A park and ride shuttle bus service will also be running from Birmingham City's football ground and from outside South Birmingham College.

    There is limited parking on the site, with organisers urging people to make use of public transport if possible.

    Car parks are also available at Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre and Birmingham Hotel.

    Port Vale's latest signing Adam Crookes believes the club can compete at the top end of League Two next season.

    Crookes signed for the club on Friday after being released by Nottingham Forest.

    The 21-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Vale Park, making 19 appearances.

    A knife arch is to be installed at a city-centre nightclub after a man was slashed across the head and a police officer injured during a mass brawl.

    Stories nightclub, in Chinatown, has had a host of licensing restrictions placed on it after "carnage" broke out in and around the club on Monday, 29 April.

    One man was "slashed" in the head during a near 45-minute ordeal which also saw one police officer punched in the face and several people sprayed with pepper spray.

    At a hearing of the city council's licencing committee it was decided all security staff would wear body cameras and a knife arch installed.

    Birmingham is set to become the first "control the bleed" city in the UK, by equipping businesses and venues with kits aimed at helping to save minutes when someone suffers an injury.

    Lynne Baird - who's son Daniel died after being stabbed - has been working with Birmingham Community Safety Partnership to develop and roll out the pilot scheme at locations across the city centre.

    Initially the kits will be put into 24 pubs, hotels and other venues.

    Now in its eighth year, Celebrate Eid in Small Heath Park marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

    The huge celebration in Birmingham is organised by Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre (GLMCC) in the city and includes global delicacies, a bazaar and a funfair.

    Eid al-Fitr, which means "festival of breaking the fast", is a religious holiday and a day of celebrations when Muslims will give thanks to Allah and exchange small gifts and cards.

    Megan Newton was found at a property in Fletcher Road, Stoke-on-Trent, in April and her family said she loved sport and taught football to young children.

    Football club Stoke Town FC held a fundraising game in her memory at the weekend.

    Joseph Trevor, from Trentham and also 18, has been accused of her murder and is due to next appear in court next month.

    A map has outlined the possible location of a clean air zone (CAZ) in Coventry.

    The city has been ordered to introduce a clear air zone by the government, which rejected the city council's own plans to tackle pollution.

    The area of the possible charging zone has been drawn up by consultants SNC Lavalin Atkins and Waterman on behalf of Coventry City Council.

    It reveals that the CAZ, as expected, would be centred around the ring road – an area highlighted by the government as one of the most polluting areas.

    As well as the ring road, pollution hot spots including sections of Holyhead Road, Walsgrave Road, Foleshill/Longford Road, and Stoney Stanton Road are also included.

    Within the CAZ area there are about 80,000 residents, according to the report, with almost half of those among the most deprived in the city.

    The authority has until 14 June to make revisions to its pollution-busting plan, including details on the clean air zone.

    Nobody is to face criminal charges over the death of a fox that died during the last hunt season, police have said.

    It's the second time in three weeks that Cheshire Police has said there's not enough evidence to prove deliberate and intentional hunting under the 2004 Hunting Act.

    Cheshire Police has been under pressure in recent months to take tougher action against fox hunts with protesters claiming the force is failing to crack down on illegal hunting.

    Officers said they were committed to fully investigate all allegations of law-breaking but it remains the case that the force has never successfully prosecuted anyone for illegal hunting.

    After Cheshire Fire Service was called at 14:45 today, the blaze at Mow Cop, near Biddulph, spread to cover 1,800 sq m (2,153 sq yds).

    By 17:30, crews said there was not much smoke still coming from the fire and they were making "good progress".
