    Protesters who've been prevented from demonstrating about equality lessons outside a school in Birmingham say they'll fight the injunction.

    The city council has obtained an interim High Court order to stop the protests at Anderton Park Primary within an exclusion zone around the site.

    At a press conference earlier demonstrators said they would hold another protest on Friday, but not directly outside the school.

    Rosina Afsar, who has two children at the school, said: "We will challenge the injunction in court, we will also judicially review all of the unjust and irresponsible behaviour by the school and council".

    The departing boss of Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) says there are challenges ahead, external, but that the foundations have been laid for "a better future".

    Critics may well disagree with his assessment as there have been calls for him to resign after a string of serious setbacks for the trust.

    In 2017, then Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt ordered a review into baby deaths at SaTH, initially into at least seven but it's since been widened several times to more than 250.

    On top of that and having been subject to repeated warnings over patient safety across two sites, it was placed in special measures in November.

    The Care Quality Commission then rated it as inadequate and said emergency and maternity services at its two hospitals were unsafe.

    Mr Wright also oversaw a plan to close Telford's A&E overnight due to staff shortages which was scrapped in November when SATH said it had attracted enough workers to maintain a 24/7 service.

    There's also been the row plans over emergency care in the county with health bosses deciding in January to downgrade Telford's A&E and house the main centre, along with key maternity services, in Shrewsbury.

    An independent NHS panel is currently assessing those plans after they were called in by Telford & Wrekin Council.

    A woman has admitted supplying a killer with cash and a mobile phone while he was evading capture by the police after stabbing a teenager at a boxing event.

    Melisa Birkinshaw helped Tyrone Andrew who fatally stabbed 19-year-old Reagan Astbury during an event in Walsall Town Hall.

    Andrew, 22, of St Helen's Street, Derby, fled to Amsterdam and Spain after incident but in August last year was convicted of manslaughter and jailed for 14 years.

    At Birmingham Crown Court today 22-year-old Birkinshaw of Cavendish Court, Derby, admitted doing acts intending to pervert the course of justice by permitting her bank account to receive cash intended for Andrew, and giving money and a phone to him in Holland.

    The closure of a major underpass in Birmingham for the next two years doesn't appear to have led to major congestion in the area on day one.

    The route under Five Ways roundabout, linking Broad Street and Hagley Road, is shut as part of the Midland Metro tram extension work, set to be completed in 2021.

    There had been warnings from Transport for West Midlands of increased traffic in the area , externalbut, on the first day of the closure, it's been busy but no signs of chaos from drivers.

    Plans for a £35m access road in Stafford are going on show this afternoon ahead of work starting this summer.

    The Western Access Route will join up the A34 Foregate Street with the A518 Newport Road, allowing traffic to bypass the centre of the town.

    Staffordshire County Council, which is behind the proposals, said the scheme was "essential" for the future growth of the town, for new housing and business developments.

    The manager of a food bank has admitted the team behind it found it "enormously difficult" to find a new location and partly blamed it on "snobbery".

    They had to move in Hereford because the lease ran out on the old building on Aubrey Street, but the new warehouse (pictured) has twice the floor space.

    Volunteers spent the weekend moving boxes of food to the new site on Monkmoor Street, external before opening today.

    But they say they don't own the building they're based in and are finding it tougher to get funding.

    The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) said Simon Wright was leaving to take up another role on 22 July.

    The trust was put in special measures in November, due to concerns about maternity and emergency services, meaning inspectors no longer trusted it to run itself alone.

    SaTH is also being investigated over baby deaths, with the scope of a review widened to include the concerns of 250 families.

    Amazon has launched a programme to put small British businesses on the high street with a series of pop-up shops.

    The Clicks and Mortar initiative will open 10 stores across the UK, in which 100 small online businesses will trade on the high street for the first time.

    The year-long pilot programme begins with the first shop opening in central Manchester this morning.

    It is due to be followed by more sites in the Midlands, Wales, Scotland and the South East.

    Fellow online retailer eBay opened its first pop-up shop in Wolverhampton last month with the same aim.

    A girl has been shot in the leg by a pellet gun fired from a moving car.

    The 12-year-old was hit while walking on Dunsmore Avenue, in the Willenhall area of Coventry at 18:00 on Friday 31 May.

    An initial shot hit a lamp-post, but the car turned around and another shot was fired which hit the girl, said West Midlands Police.

    She was not seriously injured.

    The missiles have come down on Underhill Street in Low Town and roof riles and car windscreens have been smashed.

    West Mercia Police said it had increased patrols on the cliff-top and has appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
