    A tweet Jimmy Broadhouse shared of his work at a council field in Bilbrook, near Wolverhampton, was seen millions of times. , external

    It caught the attention of Wembley's head groundsman, who invited Mr Broadhouse, known as Jimmy the Mower on Twitter, to help prepare their pitch.

    His fame continued as The One Show filmed with him at the stadium and their report's due on BBC One from 19:00.

    There's been a 8% rise in the number of rats reported in Coventry since the move to fortnightly bin collections, but the city council says there are a lot of other reasons for the rise.

    In the 12 months before the change to bin collections in September 2017 there were 2,156 rats reported to the authority and in the following year that rose to 2,336.

    A similar number was reported in the 10 months between September 2018 and June this year.

    Mild winters and warm summers had led to a longer breeding season for the rats, the city council said, and that while it was an issue it took seriously, the rising rat populations were an issue for the whole country.

    Warwickshire's seventh Pride festival, external gets underway in Leamington tomorrow, with around 5,000 people expected to attend.

    It's being held in the Pump Room Gardens and the organisers are promising live performances, stalls and fairground rides.

    More than 60 global medallists - including 10 Olympic champions, two Paralympic champions and 13 world champions - will be competing at the Birmingham Grand Prix on Sunday.

    Christian Coleman, of the United States, heads the 100m field, Kenya's world record holder Beatrice Chepkoech stars in the women's 3,000m steeplechase, while Olympic champion Omar McLeod, of Jamaica, goes in the 110m hurdles.

    Britain's Katarina Johnson-Thompson and heptathlon rival Nafi Thiam, of Belgium, are set for an intriguing battle in the long jump alongside the likes of Serbia's world indoor champion Ivana Spanovic.

    It's the ninth year in a row that the stadium has hosted the event but there will now be a break as it's redeveloped for the Commonwealth Games.

    The grand prix will be live on the BBC across TV, online and mobile app.

    Fish stocks in two rivers in Staffordshire could be dwindling, the Environment Agency's said.

    Anglers have reported falling numbers of barbel and chub in the Dove and Upper Trent in recent years, the agency added.

    It's now asking them to send in scales from any of those breeds of fish they catch, external so the agency can test for health problems.

    Three men and a woman have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Tamworth on Monday.

    Staffordshire Police said the victim, a 42-year-old man, remains in a stable condition in hospital, recovering from stab wounds to his arms.

    The force said the four are:

    • A 26-year-old woman from Worcestershire, arrested on suspicion of being involved in supplying class A drugs
    • A 23-year-old man from Worcestershire arrested on suspicion of assault GBH with intent, aggravated burglary and being concerned in the supply of drugs.
    • A 24-year-old man from Birmingham arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding, aggravated burglary and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs
    • A 24-year-old man from Birmingham arrested on suspicion of burglary, assault ABH and possession of a class A drugs.

    All four remain in police custody

    Yellow lines which were painted on the High Street in Pershore were a "mistake" made by a contractor, Worcestershire County Council has admitted.

    Workmen were there yesterday, removing them again and shopkeepers have said they are relieved, because they were causing problems for delivery lorries.

    Charity shops in Oakengates, Telford, were broken into overnight.

    It's the third time this year thieves have struck at the Red Cross shop on Limes Walk with volunteers saying the place has been "trashed".

    The nearby Extra Care and Community Care shops were also targeted.

    Police have released CCTV footage of men they want to trace, external after an attack on a man with a walking stick.

    The victim, in his 50s, was kicked and hit with a metal bar as he stood at a bus stop in Bordesley Green, Birmingham.

    Two men demanded cash and tried to search his pockets and, when he fell to the floor, attacked him with the bar. They were chased off empty-handed by a member of the public.

    The incident took place on 28 July.

    Drugs gangs have changed their tactics to recruit more local children, the head of safeguarding at Shropshire Council has said.

    Sonya Jones said dealers used to send young people from Liverpool to sell their drugs, but that changed in 2016 after a violent clash between two Merseyside gangs in the Meole Brace area of Shrewsbury.

    Since then, any child with a Liverpool accent would probably be stopped by police, she said.

    So criminals started grooming Shropshire children to do their dealing, she added.

    She also warned all children are at risk of being recruited by the so-called "county lines" gangs.
