Plans have been put forward for a new £35m recycling centre in Coventry.
In order for it to be commercially viable it would need to bring in rubbish from across the West Midlands to save cash.
The current recycling system in Coventry costs more than £1.5m a year for the 24,000 tonnes the city currently recycles. If the new plant gets the go-ahead, it could recycle at least 120,000 tonnes a year.
Quote MessageNot one of us is big enough on our own to build our own plant. We need to have a critical mass of recycling waste to be able to process it to make it economically viable."
