    A 19-year-old has been sentenced to an 11-year custodial sentence after stabbing a man in the eye.

    Jalan Gordon, from Aviation Lane, Burton-upon-Trent, was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Monday after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent, witness intimidation and possession of a blade.

    Staffordshire Police said Gordon used his phone to film the attack in Barton-under-Needwood on April 27 last year and posted it to a social media account with the phrase "snitches get stitches".

    His victim was left with serious injuries which, police said, could have resulted in sight loss.

    Gordon is to serve his sentence at a young offenders institution.

    Warwickshire's Dom Sibley said there was an "amazing atmosphere" during England's win in the second test against South Africa, adding it was "like a home game in the end".

    England bowled the South Africans out for 248 in Cape Town to win by 189 runs, with Ben Stokes claiming the final three wickets.

    Sibley scored 133 not out in England's second innings to set up the victory and added: "It's nice to get the win and nice to have contributed. An amazing feeling and hopefully it continues."

    A mobility scooter-rider who was hit by a car in Kidderminster on Sunday has died from his injuries.

    West Mercia Police said Clement Dalley, who was 78 and from the town, was struck near Crossley Retail Park and died at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday.

    Four former GPs surgeries in Hereford are on the market, with asking prices ranging from £295,000 to £695,000.

    The buildings have been put up for sale because the Greyfriars, Moorfield House, Aylestone Hill and King Street surgeries decided to combine with Sarum House surgery to become a new Hereford Medical Group, on a new site.

    GMB members' decision to work to rule comes amid safety fears, the union says.

    According to GMB, the ballot follows a decision by private contractor Serco, which runs the service for the council, to cut two rounds from Sandwell’s domestic waste collection.

    Branch secretary Darren James said workers were having to cut corners to avoid extra hours on top of their normal working day, "putting staff at risk".

    Sandwell Council says the dispute is between the company and the refuse collectors.

    Serco has been contacted for comment.

    Aston Martin's shares are now worth 76% less than they were when the luxury car-maker floated in London in October 2018.

    "Aston Martin has been one of the biggest flops on the stock market in living memory," says Russ Mould, investment director at AJ Bell.

    Today's profit warning by the Warwickshire company - which has sent its share price down 12.3% to 456.4p - is just the latest downgrade.

    Last July, Aston Martin cut the forecast for wholesale volumes and profit margins, and reduced forecast again in November.

    Summing up the past year, Aston Martin's chief executive Andy Palmer said: "From a trading perspective, 2019 has been a very disappointing year."

    A branch of Morrisons was closed this morning following the death of an employee in the store.

    Emergency crews were sent to the supermarket on Hurst Lane, Castle Bromwich, just before 09:00 GMT, but the man was declared dead at the scene.

    "Unfortunately, despite best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man," a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.

    West Midlands Police described it as a "non-suspicious death".

    A Morrisons spokeswoman added: "Sadly, a colleague passed away in our Castle Bromwich store this morning. Our thoughts are with his family at this time."

    The store was reopened this afternoon.
