    Two fee-paying schools in Coventry have said they will merge to save money.

    The Coventry School Foundation, which runs both Bablake School and King Henry VIII School, said the move would "achieve efficiencies" and allow it to revamp the campuses.

    The plan will see the two private schools merge and both lose their historic names - instead they will be known as Coventry School, which will open in September 2021, with the merger completed by the following year.

    Officials at King Henry VIII School say it was in 1545 with an older date for Bablake of 1344.

    A petition has been set up opposing the merger claiming the move "only seemed to be motivated by the incentive of profit" and more than 950 people have signed it.

    A bar in Birmingham has had its licence suspended for coronavirus breaches.

    On one visit, police officers found about 40 people at La Reference on Hockley Hill, after 22:00, when pubs and bars are supposed to close under new rules.

    The designated premises supervisor, Mr Rodrigue Kuoamo Tankeu, told the police officers he'd been trying to get his customers to leave sinec 21:45, but CCTV pictures later showed he was serving drinks up until 22:00.

    This is the second venue in Birmingham to have its licence suspended for coronavirus breaches in the space of two days.

    Severn Trent was one of two water companies two achieve a maximum four-star rating in the latest Environment Agency review of England's water and sewage companies.

    The ratings are based on a range of measures including serious pollution incidents, pollution per kilometre of sewer pipes and compliance with permits.

    Wessex Water was the other company to get a four-star rating.

    Southern Water became the first company to be rated as one-star since 2015.
