    A sex worker has said she's had no choice but to carry on working during the coronavirus pandemic - putting her health and the health of others at risk.

    The Shropshire woman, who doesn't want to be identified, said she looked for ways to diversify her business and go online, but she was worried it compromised her privacy.

    She said running an erotic phone line didn't earn her enough money to live.

    She said she'd been forced to move to a cheaper flat because of her loss of earnings and was having to meet clients at her home, because hotels were closed.

    The support group The English Collective of Prostitutes has called for sex workers to be given financial support from government.

    The Coventry half marathon will have to be postponed for a third time, but finding a new date isn't proving easy.

    It was originally due to have taken place in April 2020 - it was then moved to November, and then March 2021.

    Dave Long, one of the organisers, said the complication had been that a lot of other events were also being rearranged for later in the year, making it hard to avoid clashes.

    They lost 2-0 at Scunthorpe last night and Danny Pugh said: "We''re going to be working as hard as we can to climb up the table."

    A man ran in to a children's nursery for help after being stabbed on Tipton High Street.

    West Midlands Police said it happened at around 15:30 and the 18-year-old was taken to hospital.

    The force said his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

    An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack, and will be questioned on suspicion of attempted murder.

    JCB is recruiting more than 400 factory-floor workers to prepare for a "surge in production".

    The Staffordshire-based company said the market for construction equipment had rebounded sharply since the coronavirus pandemic first hit.

  10. Pistols seized after Birmingham disorderpublished at 09:00 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2021

    Three men have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence after police were called to reports of disorder in Birmingham.

    West Midlands Police said three men, aged 19, 27 and 28, fled the scene on Washwood Heath Road at about 11:00 GMT on Tuesday and were arrested on Newhall Street shortly afterwards by armed officers.

    The force said no one is thought to have been seriously injured in the attack but officers had seized two blank firing pistols and some blank firing rounds.

    Two people are receiving treatment in hospital after jumping to safety from the roof of a burning house in Handsworth, Birmingham.

    Emergency services were called to the severe blaze on Regent Road at about 23:10 GMT last night with 35 firefighters tackling the blaze at its height.

    West Midlands Fire Service said crews remained on site this morning and were working with police to establish the cause of the fire.

    The two patients' injuries are related to their fall, police said, and not the fire.

    The property has been left with severe damage, West Midlands Police said, but the fire was prevented from spreading to adjoining properties.
