    Rob Halford, lead singer of Walsall-based metal band Judas Priest, has been revealed as a headline act for Wolverhampton's Literature Festival line-up.

    It returns as an online event next month and he will be discussing his memoir ‘Confess’.

    A man has died following a house fire in Bloxwich yesterday evening.

    The fire broke out at a property on Chase Road on Monday evening.

    The fire service had got the man out of the property but West Midlands Ambulance Service said he was confirmed dead at the scene.

    Five new Covid-19 vaccinations centres have opened in the West Midlands today.

    The NHS said, external the new sites, part of more than 30 across England, would be part of an acceleration in the vaccine programme.

    The five in the region are:

    • Black Country Living Museum, Dudley
    • Hall 1, Stoneleigh Park Agricultural Centre, Warwickshire
    • Artix Centre, Bromsgrove
    • Telford International Centre
    • Daniel Platt Centre, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire

    Ian Turner, from Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which is running the Stoke-on-Trent site, said up to 1,000 people could be vaccinated there each day.

    "This week we will be focusing on health and social care staff and then people will start to receive invitation letters to come through the centre to recieve their coronavirus vaccine," he said.

    At the Artrix Centre, organisers said they can deliver 1,200 doses a day but operations manager Tracey Walker wants to quickly scale that up

    "The supply will build and our capacity will build. We will and can vaccinate at 2,600 vaccinations every single day."

    People are reminded they need an NHS letter of invitation before turning up.

    More than 30 firefighters tackled the blaze at St Joseph’s Primary School in Droitwich, Worcestershire, at about 01:45 on Monday.

    The fire service described, external it as a "significant fire" and said an investigation was underway into what caused it.
