A doctor whose husband was one of the first NHS doctors to die from Covid-19 says she fears she will have to leave the country and the NHS for good if her elderly mother is deported.
Dr Liza Harry, a consultant paediatrician at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, says she needs the support of her mother to help look after her seven-year-old daughter.
Her husband, Dr Vishna Rasiah (pictured), 48, who worked at the Birmingham Women's and Children's trust, died in April 2020 after contracting coronavirus.
Dr Harry says her mother came over from Trinidad in June to care and help reassure her daughter.
She says if her mum has to go back to Trinidad, she will have to leave too because she will not have childcare.
"Having her here has made such a difference and I am planning to return to work later this month but the difficulty has been trying to do my job planning without knowing whether I will have any help with childcare at home," she said.

A Sikh temple in Oldbury has been granted permission for an extension and a new dome.
Members of Sandwell Council's planning committee unanimously agreed to allow the work to the Gurdwara Guru Hargobind Sahib on Britannia Street.
To make room for the two-storey extension an existing covered area at the front of the temple will be demolished.
As well as the large central dome, there will be five smaller domes and new front steps.
A report to planning committee said concerns had been raised by nearby residents about traffic and parking, but council officers said the extension would not generate extra traffic.
