The visitors went 3-0 up inside 38 minutes before Leander Dendoncker headed home and substitute Fabio Silva found the target.

Nuno said: "We produced good things in attack... chances, but we defend bad. We defend bad, especially on the counter attacks of West Ham.

"So all the good things that we did in attack was taken away from how poor we approached (these) defensive situations."

Wolves were dealt a blow before the match with the news that wing-back Jonny is out for the rest of the campaign and Nuno said team changes were a factor in them struggling in situations at the back.

"We lost important players in (the) last moments.

"We have to analyse and see that we cannot start the game so bad."
