By 2030, the EU hopes that there will be 30 million electric cars on European roads.

Paul Anderson from Birmingham University says he's concerned about what will happen to the batteries when they come to the end of their life.

"In 10 to 15 years when there are large numbers coming to the end of their life, it's going to be very important that we have a recycling industry," he points out.

While traditional lead-acid batteries are widely recycled, the same can't be said for the lithium-ion versions used in electric cars.

A logo used by Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust infringed the rights of another company, the High Court ruled in 2018.

The mental health trust's system - Rapid Assessment and Interfaced Discharge service (RAID) – is designed to improve patient assessment and discharge for people experiencing mental health crises and trauma who attend hospitals, including A&Es.

Prof George Tadros, who joined the NHS trust’s RAID team in 2009, is alleged to have given misleading evidence to the High Court during a hearing, according to documents on the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service website.

His fitness to practise as a doctor will now be examined at a tribunal next month.
