    Plans for a £12m school in Dudley to cater for pupils with complex needs have been announced.

    The new Pens Meadow Special School, on the site of the former Pensnett High School in Dudley, and will cater for puplls with autism and those with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

    It will also have an onsite nursery and assisted living block to support young people living independently.

    The new school would also provide therapy rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, changing facilities, outdoor teaching and play areas, community group facilities, and 14 bespoke classrooms specifically designed to cater to children with additional needs.

    The council said the plans were in the early stages but it was excited about the potential it brings.

    Four men have been charged with offences relating to the supply of crack cocaine and heroin by officers investigating county lines drug dealing.

    The four aged from 19 to 26, all from Birmingham, were arrested following the execution of drugs warrants in the city.

    They are expected to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court later.

    A man has been arrested on suspicion of orchestrating a "crash for cash" collision.

    The crash in February on the A57 in Sheffield is thought to have been caused deliberately to falsely claim insurance, West Midlands Police said. , external

    They raided a home in Caldwell Road, Birmingham, on Thursday.

    The 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and fraud and remains in custody.

    The force said it is the fifth arrest as part of a wider probe into a suspected organised "crash for cash" gang and the other four have been released under investigation.

    Earlier this week, Insurance Fraud Bureau revealed parts of Birmingham were hotspots in the UK for these type of cases.

    The RSPCA said the swan and her partner had been nesting on the Wyrley and Essington Canal near Pratts Mill Bridge for around a month before the attack.

    RSPCA Animal Rescue Officer Cara Gibbon, said: “It is absolutely sickening to think that someone deliberately shot this swan. Whoever did this seemingly enjoyed torturing her while she was in the process of incubating her eggs."

    The charity believes the attack took place some time between 18:00 on 7 May and 10:00 on 8 May.
