    An abandoned baby found by a dog walker in a park has left hospital, police say.

    Named George by hospital staff, he was found on 22 April, wrapped in a blanket at The Mounds in Kings Norton, Birmingham.

    Officers are trying to trace his mother and have released CCTV images of a woman walking along Shannon Road earlier in the day.

    In a statement the West Midlands force said "baby George is now in foster care and doing well."

    The MP for Stoke-on-Trent North is being investigated for his use of official parliamentary stationery.

    Conservative Jonathan Gullis says the complaint comes from letters he sent in January about government money for Kidsgrove.

    The Code of Conduct for Parliament says stationery shouldn't be used to give any political party an undue advantage.

    The MP says he's made his case to the Standards Commissioner.

    The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are to visit the West Midlands later this week as part of a week-long campaign highlighting mental health awareness.

    They'll visit local organisations that support children and young people, Kensington Palace has announcd.

    The duchess has spoken about her wish to "break the stigma" around the topic.

    This year’s theme is about nature and the important role it can play to help improve mental wellbeing, as well as its power to prevent or aid recovery from poor mental health.

    A man who beat the leader of Shropshire Council in the local elections says Shrewsbury's North West Relief Road was "a huge issue on the doorstep".

    Conservative Peter Nutting lost Copthorne ward to Liberal Democrat Rob Wilson (pictured) by 519 votes, but his party kept control of the authority.

    Mr Wilson said "a lot of people" in Copthorne were spoken to over the last 12 months and the number that were against the road was "incredible".

    He added: "The number of people that were shocked that Mr Nutting hadn't spoken to them personally about it and the effect it was gonna have on his ward made them come out and vote."

    Asked if he would be actively trying to stop the road, Mr Wilson replied: "I would like to, yes."

    Mr Nutting said it was a "privilege" to represent the county.

    Following his win, Mr Wilson thanked Mr Nutting for his decades of service.

    The BBC has approached Mr Nutting for a comment.

    Coventry council leader George Duggins faces a leadership challenge from former cabinet member Ed Ruane.

    Councillor Ruane, who won re-election to Henley last week, is seeking backing from fellow Labour colleagues at a vote tonight.

    He is a former cabinet member for housing and communities at the authority, who has served as a Coventry councillor since 2007.

    Announcing a bid to oust incumbent councillor Duggins, he said the party needs to "modernise its approach" and "re-establish the trust that we’ve lost".

    He said: "I have decided to make a leadership bid, as I passionately believe that the Labour party needs to modernise its approach in how we do politics and connect with our local communities.

    "I want the party to re-engage with people inside and outside of the Labour Party to re-establish the trust that we’ve lost over the past few years."

    Defeat at the Emirates confirmed Sam Allardyce's first relegation from the Premier League as a manager, although the experienced 66-year-old had all but accepted their fate before the match.

    The division's great escape artist replaced Slaven Bilic in December when the Baggies were 19th in the table and accepted the task of trying to guide them to survival.

    Allardyce has previously kept Blackburn Rovers, Sunderland and Crystal Palace in the English top flight after taking control in similar circumstances, but the rescue mission at the Hawthorns proved too big with West Brom managing just four wins in the 22 league games he oversaw.

    The Baggies return to the Championship at the first time of asking and join Norwich City as the only sides to be relegated from the Premier League on five occasions.

    A construction partnership working on HS2's London terminus at Euston has been appointed to build Birmingham’s Curzon Street Station.

    The £570m deal will see the Mace and Dragados jointly working on the landmark station which is set to connect Birmingham to both the capital and Manchester in under an hour.

    Work to create a new intercity terminus on Curzon Street is well underway, with archaeologists excavating the historic site.

    The venture will be a "major shot in the arm" for the construction sector and bring in "hundreds" of jobs, the region's mayor Andy Street has said.

    A new BBC docudrama is set to explore the life and works of electric music pioneer Delia Derbyshire.

    Delia Derbyshire:The Myths And The Legendary Tapes, external is a cinematic exploration of the life and creative output of the sound pioneer, who created the iconic Doctor Who theme tune in 1963.

    Born in Coventry, as a young girl she grew up hearing the eerie sound of air raid sirens. She became fascinated with music and mathematics, and studied both at Cambridge University.
