Coventry City of Culture organisers have said they hope residents felt proud of their city.
Saturday's signature event saw a day of surprise performances, starting with a song from The Selecter singer Pauline Black, followed by a bicycle peleton and motorcade through the city.
“Coventry Moves has given the world a taste of what this wonderful city has to offer," said creative director Chenine Bhathena.
"It was great to have so many amazing Coventry artists taking part from the city showing off their creativity.
"I hope all Coventrians felt pride in seeing their home in the spotlight."
A delivery driver who was left with life-threatening injuries after trying to stop a thief stealing his van is now in a stable condition in hospital, police said.
The 28-year-old had been making a delivery in Oxbarn Avenue, Wolverhampton, on Friday afternoon when he saw his van being stolen.
As he attempted to stop it being driven away, he was hit by the vehicle.

Changes are to be made at Warwickshire cricket ground and the University of Birmingham’s Sports and Fitness Centre ahead of hosting events for next year’s Commonwealth Games.
Papers due to go before the council’s planning committee this week show how the Sports and Fitness Centre will be adapted to host the hockey and squash events, while Edgbaston stadium will undergo small alterations in order to host the women’s cricket.
All of the structures would be erected between June and July 2022 with the events held from 28 July to 7 August.

A vigil for a 14-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in Birmingham showed an "outpouring of love" for his family, organisers said.
Dr Desmond Jaddoo (pictured) led the vigil after the death of Dea-John Reid in College Road, Kingstanding, in support of his family including his mother, Joan Morris.
"The outpouring of love and unity in support of Joan and the rest of the family was absolutely immense, many people were in tears," he said.
Local MP Jack Dromey was also at the vigil and said the community showed solidarity with the family.
"Joan is a remarkable woman, she appealed for the people of Kingstanding and Birmingham to come together and that is precisely what happened last night," he added.
A celebration to launch the start of Coventry's City of Culture year was watched in 88 countries, organisers say.
Events took place across the city, with a song by Pauline Black, lead singer of The Selecter, and bicycles and cars travelling across the city.
In total, Coventry Moves had 100,000 views across platforms on Saturday.
There were more than 500 people involved, including 350 on the day, Coventry City of Culture Trust said.
The say featured 43 performances across the day, passing through 400 streets.
A special documentary, Curtain up on Coventry, will be broadcast across the Midlands on BBC One at 19:35.

The VW Polo and Ford Ranger collided on the A5 between Telford and Cracklybank on Monday morning, West Mercia Police said. , external
Officers said the crash spun both vehicles around on the road before they came to a stop.
They have not said which vehicle the woman, aged in her 30s, was in but she suffered significant internal injuries and was taken to hospital.
A surgeon who branded his initials on to patients' livers is to has been given he go-ahead to practise again at a medical tribunal hearing.
Simon Bramhall, of Tarrington, in Herefordshire, admitted using an argon beam machine to write his initials on the organs of anaesthetised patients in 2013 while working at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital and was fined £10,000.
In December, his registration was temporarily suspended.
However, a review on Friday found his fitness to practise had not been impaired.
The decision was handed down in private, so no further details have been published by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service.

Pupils and staff in Wolverhampton secondary schools are being encouraged to continue wearing face masks.
They were previously mandatory in communal areas in secondary schools, but the rule has since been lifted.
However, following the emergence of new variants of Covid-19, the City of Wolverhampton Council wrote to head teachers last month recommending they maintain the use of face coverings.
After reviewing the situation over half-term and, in light of rising infection rates in other parts of the country, it is is asking schools to continue encouraging their use.
Councillor Dr Michael Hardacre, said: "Our rates are low in Wolverhampton and while this is welcome news we mustn’t lose sight of the fact that rates in neighbouring areas are increasing, partly due to the new, more transmissible Delta variant."
The senior coroner for Worcestershire has written to HMP Long Lartin raising concerns following the death of a prisoner.
Geoffrey Hutton, 39, was found dead in his cell in February 2019.
Senior coroner David Reid said the prison failed to carry out a social care assessment, despite Mr Hutton having known mental health problems and a history of self-harm.
It was found during an inquest into Mr Hutton's death that there was no effective system for allocating an ACCT (Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork) manager to him and his self-appointed officer took on the role knowing she would not have contact with him for weeks.
Mr Reid wrote to the prison to say there was a risk of future deaths, external unless action was taken to improve their social care referral policy and staff training, noting that he had raised these issues with the prison previously following the death of another inmate, David Kirsch.

Johnstone played the full 90 minutes of England's 1-0 friendly victory against Romania at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough.
The highlight of an impressive performance was a stunning close range save to preserve England's lead.
England manager Gareth Southgate said: "We had chances to make it more comfortable but so did they, the first half we did not work hard enough without the ball, we were too stretched and did not press well.
"After half-time, I thought we improved and it was helpful we went to 4-3-3 later and I have to say it was a good exercise, players needed the minutes and learned a lot from the game. It was good to win."
