England and Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has called for harsher punishments for racism in football, following ugly scenes at Wembley last night.
Some Hungary fans clashed with police in the opening minutes of the World Cup qualifier at Wembley after England players took the knee before kick-off.
One supporter was arrested on suspicion of racially abusing a steward, the Metropolitan Police said.
Mings says he hopes those responsible will be dealt with appropriately.
"Every time we speak about racial abuse, the punishments that then follow never quite seem to be in line with what's happened, but I guess I can't speak too freely unless I know the facts and I sincerely hope that if that was the case, then the punishments this time fit what's happened."
Fifa has said it "strongly condemns" the incidents.
Crowd trouble also marred Poland's victory over Albania, with the game suspended for more than 20 minutes after home fans threw objects at the visiting players.
