  16. EU referendum immigration debate: 'Compromises' will be madepublished at 13:38 British Summer Time 5 September 2016

    Adam Jinkerson
    BBC Local Live

You may have seen in the news today that Prime Minister Theresa May has rejected a points-based system for controlling EU migration - one of the key promises of Leave campaigners during the referendum.

Peterborough MP Stewart Jackson (pictured) told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire that the idea of "pulling up the drawbridge" on people coming to the UK is "not what was promised or what will happen".

    Stewart Jackson

Mr Jackson, who's parliamentary private secretary to Brexit secretary David Davis, said a "compromise" is needed on future immigration policy.

"Clearly we're a global trading nation. We will have to have people," he said.

However, former Cambridge MP, Lib Dem Julian Huppert (below), responded by saying that "realities are dawning on ministers and senior Brexiteers".

    Julian Huppert

"What [the Leave campaign] promised simply wasn't do-able," he said.

"Negotiations are not going to look as they'd fantasised".

A country park looking to break the world record for the biggest ever game of hide-and-seek has just missed the mark, it is understood.

The record-breaking attempt at Milton Country Park near Cambridge has been organised by Cambridgeshire Search and RescueImage source, Milton Country Park

More than 1,000 people turned out for the record-breaking attempt organised by Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue (CamSAR) at Milton Country Park near Cambridge.

The current Guinness world record for a hide-and-seek game involved 1,437 people, set in China in 2014.
