    "Could do better" is Peterborough United boss Grant McCann's assessment of his side's home form so far this season.

    Posh have taken 15 points from 10 league games at the ABAX ahead of tomorrow's clash with Chesterfield.

    Posh's opponents are in the relegation zone and have been beset by boardroom and financial problems, but Posh boss McCann reckons that could have a galvanising effect on the Spireites.

    "Maintain high standards on the road," that's the message from Cambridge United boss Shaun Derry as they head to Hartlepool in League Two tomorrow.

    The U's, who lost in the EFL Trophy at Bradford on Wednesday, have lost just three times away from home in the league this term.

    Derry says his men will "travel with confidence".

    A dry start to the night but it will turn cloudier with some patchy rain and drizzle spreading eastwards later. It’ll be mild and frost free with lows of 8C (46F).

    Saturday will get off to a cloudy, misty and damp start with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. During the afternoon some more persistent rain will move in from the west, turning heavy at times with highs of 14C (57F).

    When the festive season approaches many of us dust down Christmas ornaments and decorations... but it's probably safe to say you don't have a nativity scene collection like this.

    A mother and daughter team from Waterbeach have got a 350-strong assortment of nativity scenes sourced from around the world.

    The first in the collection was carved in Bethlehem and made from olive wood... the latest is made from loom bands!

  15. Jail for man involved in Coton burglarypublished at 16:31 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2016

    A man who handled goods stolen during a burglary in Cambridgeshire in which an elderly couple were tortured has been jailed for nine-and-a-half years.

    Marc Smith, 43, from Cambridge, was sentenced at the Old Bailey earlier for handling stolen goods, including sentimental ornaments and jewellery, taken during the burglary in Coton. He had previously pleaded guilty.

    The pair who carried out the burglary were sentenced last week to 15 years in prison each.

    John McCarthy, 35, of Cambridge, and Richard Leslie, 37, of south London, attacked the couple in Cambridgeshire in November 2014.  

    The thieves were armed with a sledgehammer and crowbar and bound the couple, in their 70s, with tape breaking the female victim's toe and teeth.

    The ambulance service have given us an update on two crashes they have attended in Peterborough city centre.

    They say two pedestrians have head injuries after being hit by vehicles in separate collisions.

    Paramedics took a woman to hospital after a collision with a car on Rivergate at just after 13:00.

    A man in his 60s was injured in similar circumstances in nearby Bridge Street 15 minutes later.

    Neither injury is believed to be life-threatening.

    Police say they were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian on Rivergate at 13:25.

    There has also been a crash on Bridge Street - reported around 15 minutes earlier.

    Cambridgeshire Police can't yet confirm whether anyone has been hurt.

    Peterborough United manager Grant McCann has banned talk of Chelsea from the dressing room.

    Posh will travel to Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup third round if they beat Notts County in their replay on 20 December.

    McCann has told his players not to be distracted by a potential clash with the Premier League giants.

    He wants his men to focus on Saturday's clash with Chesterfield.
