  8. Peterborough one of the worst areas for homeless children over Christmaspublished at 15:25 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2016

    Adam Jinkerson
    BBC Local Live

Peterborough currently has 36 families with children that have been in bed and breakfasts for six weeks or more, according to new data.

The number makes Peterborough one of the highest nationally.

The chart below shows September 2016 figures in blue, compared to figures in the same month in 2015 in orange.

    Homelessness graphic

These new figures show that at least 117,000 children are set to face Christmas homeless and in temporary accommodation in England this year.

Government statistics show 74,630 households, nearly 80% of them with children, were being housed temporarily by the end of September.

Charities said the figures continued a rising trend and painted a desperate picture of the trauma of homelessness.

The government said it was committed to supporting society's most vulnerable.

This was why the Department for Communities and Local Government was investing over £550m to tackle and reduce homelessness, it said.

A Ferrari, costing in the region of £500,000, has been donated to the East of England Air Ambulance Service (EAAA) by the former chairman of Ferrari UK Club, Richard Allen.

Patrick Peal, chief executive of the EAAA said: "The gift opportunity which this legacy offers would enable to us to proceed with the building of a bespoke hangar to house our helicopter, Anglia 2, at Cambridge Airport, some 400m from our base.

"Our own hangar next door would mean adding some 180 available shift hours a year, significantly increasing the number of lifesaving missions we could fly each year."

The estimated investment needed to build a hangar is close to £200,000, so the lowest estimate for the car sale would comfortably cover that cost. However, past sales of similar cars have fetched up to £650,000.

Allen, who died last month, brought the Ferrari over to the UK from Italy in the '90s.

He donated it to the Duke of Cambridge's employer due to his "first-hand understanding of the importance of the air ambulance service for racing drivers".

Oh, and if you are the lucky winner, it possesses a current MOT certificate valid until October 2017.
