    A 16-year-old boy who has denied murdering Tom Webb in Derby city centre will appear again before Nottingham Crown Court on 20 May.

    Two men - aged 54 and 74 - are on bail after being detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.

    Seven other people arresred on suspicion of violent disorder also remain on police bail pending further investigation.

    It is reporting that "more than 300 seats were broken or in some cases pulled off whole" after the FA Cup fourth round match at the iPro Stadium on Friday 29 January.

    Simon Tulitt's wife Janet has spoken about the poor treatment her husband received at Royal Derby Hospital.

    "My husband was a very active, otherwise healthy man who prided himself on eating well, exercising and keeping fit," she said. 

    "His death at Derby hospital was so unexpected. The circumstances of his death are still something the family and I struggle to accept.

    "I saw him after he’d had the initial surgery and he seemed well – positive and upbeat and just like himself."

  11. Fresh Derby arrest in Akhtar Javeed murder investigationpublished at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2016

    Detectives investigating the murder of Akhtar Javeed, who was shot outside his warehouse in Birmingham, have made a fourth arrest in connection with his death.

    A 22-year-old man was arrested in the Derby area this morning on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.

    Lemar Wali, 18, from Derby, has been charged with Mr Javeed's murder and will appear again in court tomorrow.

  13. Hospital failings led to keyhole patient's deathpublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2016

    A coroner has concluded the death of a man from Burton was down to neglect by the Royal Derby Hospital.

    Simon Tulitt, 62, died after receiving keyhole surgery to remove a cancerous growth on his bowel.

    The inquest heard medical staff failed to give him the correct antibiotics before or after his operation despite signs of infection.

    The hospital admitted a breach of duty and its medical director released a statement saying lessons will be learned from the case.

    Mid Derbyshire MP Pauline Latham has been speaking about the Helen Marks case and the way she was forced out of her job.

    "I'll raise it in Parliament because I really don't think it is the only case," the Conservative member said. 

    "It's the principle of the thing. We've had cases before in Derbyshire where people have walked away with big packages and it is happening all over the country."
