    Officials are still trying to find the owners of the abandoned rottweiler nicknamed Elvis, who's died after vets found his organs were failing.

    Dean Gregory from Crowfoot Kennels in Church Broughton says his death is all the more sad because they'd found him a loving home.

    Wardens from South Derbyshire District Council are appealing for help in contacting the owners, who are thought to be from the Swadlincote area.

    A dog nicknamed Elvis which was found neglected and abandoned in South Derbyshire has had to be put down.

    Wardens found the rottweiler in January and took him to Crowfoot Kennels in Church Broughton.

    Elvis had swollen paws and a severe skin condition, and vets discovered this week that his organs were failing.

    Police say a woman's body has been found at the scene of a house fire in Chesterfield.

    The body was found inside the property, in Catherine Street, shortly after 02:00.

    Fire and police officers are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

    A judge will pass sentence today on a man found guilty of raping women he met through a dating website.

    Jason Lawrance targeted seven women he met on the site, three of whom were from Derbyshire.

    The 50-year-old was found guilty at Derby Crown Court of five counts of rape, one attempted rape and one sexual assault.
