An attempt was made to steal a cash machine from a Co-op service station in Duckmanton, external very early this morning.
It happened at about 04:00 in Chesterfield Road and police are now trying to find who was responsible.

Julie Titheridge, 40, killed her boyfriend Stephen Burton almost two years ago after an argument at the house they shared in Selkirk Street, Chaddesden.

Train maker Bombardier has confirmed a multi-million pound deal with another local company - Porterbrook Leasing which is based at Pride Park.
They will make more than 90 new vehicles which will be used to supply the Great Western Railway. The work is expected to be completed by October next year.

Burton's Market Hall is steadily improving according to East Staffordshire Borough Council, despite a high turnover of traders and a disappointing number of visitors.

The county council says the closures mean the loss of 143 full time equivalent posts, external in its children's and business services.

But during the consultation people said closures would mean travelling further to access services and they would have a "detrimental affect" on the health and wellbeing of children.
