    We've been talking about Riley Hill's inspiring story this morning.

    The four-year-old spent so much time in a hospital bed at Nottingham's QMC hospital he lost his ability to walk. 

    "It was tough on us all, said his mum Sarah. "It's a long time to spend in hospital for anybody, especially for a four-year-old boy but he took it in his stride."

    Riley's mum, Sarah Hill, has been talking to BBC Radio Derby about her son's recovery after he spent 231 days in hospital with a cancerous tumour in his stomach.

    "The chances of him coming through what he has come through were really, really slim - less than 5%.

    "But it is a sign of Riley's spirit. He just fights every step of the way and he always has done."

    Four-year-old Riley Hill here looks happy to be home.

    The Matlock toddler has spent 231 days in hospital receiving treatment for a cancerous tumour in his stomach.

    Doctors now say they think he will make a full recovery and his mum Sarah Hill has been telling BBC Radio Derby this morning that she's happy to have him back home.

    More than 1,260 people gave their thoughts on the council's plans to close the children's centres., external   

    Some of them said shutting them would have an impact on a child's social ability and for families to get support and advice.

    Despite strong opposition from some of the centre users, the cabinet at Derbyshire County Council said it had no choice but to close them to save £4.5m a year because of government funding cuts.

    The equivalent of a hundred full time jobs will be lost as a result of the closures.

    The closure of 29 children's centres in Derbyshire has been confirmed by Derbyshire County Council. 

    Around 100 full-time equivalent jobs are to be lost.

    People have been giving their views to the county council on plans to close 29 children's centres in a consultation over the last few months.

    The meeting to discuss the closures started at 10:00 so we should hopefully be able to bring you their decision very soon.

    The authority says it has to make further cuts due because of less money coming to them from the government.

    If approved, it could mean the loss of around 100 full time jobs.
