    He says: "Tonight will be a dry and warm night, while tomorrow will see the potential for some mist first thing, but this will clear and then it's a dry day with plenty of sunny spells, highs of 28C (82F)."

    Police have released a CCTV still of two men officers want to speak to after damage was caused to a building and equipment at an archery club in Aston on Trent in Derbyshire.

    The damage was caused to the Derby Road club between 16:10 and 18:00 on August 30.

    I've been at Repton School to see Hollie Webb (left) and Shona McCallin - members of Team GB's gold medal winning hockey team - who were coaching young players from across the Midlands.

    Hollie, who took the winning penalty against the Netherlands, is from Belper, while Shona went to Repton School for a couple of years.

    A man who shouted racist abuse in the street and was found with a stun gun has been jailed for more than two years., external

    Derbyshire Police visited Philip Anderson's house in Stockbrook, on 9 March, as they believed a suspect may have been staying there.

    The force said Anderson became aggressive and officers searched him, only to find a stun gun disguised as a mobile phone. Anderson was arrested.

    Later, in July, members of the public called the police, reporting Anderson had been shouting racial abuse where he lived.

    Anderson, 45, was sentenced on 9 September after admitting possessing a prohibited weapon and two counts of using racially aggravated language.

    West Indies bowling legend Michael Holding has officially opened Derbyshire Cricket Club's new media centre complex. 

    The four-storey centre is located at the Racecourse End of The 3aaa County Ground.

    The jury is still considering two charges on both Mistry, of Laundon Way in Leicester, and Wali, of Osmaston Park Road, Derby, of possession of a pistol with intent to cause fear or violence. 

    Another man, 25-year-old Tahir Zarif, from Derby, is believed to be on the run in Pakistan.

    A Derby teenager has been found guilty of plotting to commit robbery after a businessman was shot dead in a botched warehouse raid in Birmingham.

    Lemar Wali, 18, was convicted of the offence alongside Suraj Mistry, 26 - who was also found guilty of killing father-of-four Akhtar Javeed at his warehouse in Digbeth. 

    Both men were found not guilty of murder.

    Plans for a directly elected mayor in South Yorkshire are "not a done deal" and could be dropped from the region's proposed devolution agreement.  

    Last month Derbyshire County Council said it was seeking a judicial review of the consultation.

    A woman has been jailed for a year - after breaching a suspended sentence by handling stolen goods.

    Derbyshire Police said Sarah Fox, 39, from Creswell, was involved in the theft of a 78-year-old woman's handbag in Duke Street, Creswell, on 1 May.

    Fox admitted handling stolen goods at Chesterfield Justice Centre on 14 June and pleaded guilty to breaching a 24-month suspended sentence for grievous bodily harm - handed to Fox in September 2015.

    She was jailed at a separate hearing in Derby Crown Court yesterday.

    The school's deputy head, John Golding, said the school was "very proud" of its association with the late author.

    "As an English teacher, I can only be grateful for the fact that he's made so many pupils fall in love with reading," he said.

    Unsurprisingly, Mr Golding confirmed Dahl's books were on pupils' reading lists...

    Repton School in Derbyshire is celebrating the life of Roald Dahl today - on what would have been his 100th birthday. 

    The author was a pupil at the school between 1930 and 1934.

    The foundation established by a former Labour MP has been awarded almost £10,000 in lottery funding.

    The Derby Rights and Representation Foundation, set up by ex-Derby North MP Chris Williamson, will use the money "to provide advice and advocacy services".

    In July, Derby City Council were criticised for waiving the rent on Mr Williamson's foundation office.

    BIS committee chairman Iain Wright MP said Mr Ashley needed to fix "poor contractual terms" set out by agencies.

    "He [Mr Ashley] could start by cutting his ties with Transline Group, who have not been candid or credible in their evidence to the BIS and, as we heard in our evidence sessions, have deducted money from low-paid workers without proper explanation or justification," he said.

    "If Sports Direct is going to become the Selfridges or John Lewis-style retailer which Mike Ashley has said he aspires them to be, then he needs to fix these poor contractual terms and make a real improvement to warehouse staff working conditions."

    MPs accused Transline of giving "deliberately misleading" evidence when the company was questioned in Westminster alongside Mr Ashley.

    In a letter, external, Transline said they were "disappointed" by this verdict and suggested MPs were being "biased" against them.

    But the BIS responded, external by saying Transline had not addressed their "fundamental questions" and maintained they misled the committee. Mr Ashley has been informed, external of the committee's response.
