    Sports Direct's use of two agencies - Transline and The Best Connection - was criticised in a report by MPs.

    The BIS raised concerns about the working conditions for agency workers in Shirebrook and the legality of schemes run by the agencies - such as pre-paid debit cards and insurance services.

    Last week it was announced, external Transline was under investigation by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC).

    MPs have called on Sports Direct majority shareholder Mike Ashley to end the company's ties with one of the agencies they use to supply workers to its Shirebrook warehouse.

    The Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) Committee has written to Transline Group, stating the agency "lacked credibility" in its evidence to the Sports Direct inquiry.

    MPs have urged Transline to provide "credible responses" to their questions - or they may report Transline's directors to the House of Commons for not being fit and proper enough to run the agency.

    Donington Sunday Market has stopped trading after nearly 40 years.

    The long-running open air market was an initiative of the late Tom Wheatcroft after he took control of the Donington estate in the 1970s. 

    But its current owners say in recent years there's been a continual reduction in its size and they don't see this changing in the future.

    This is affecting "some" customers in the DE4 area of Bakewell and Matlock.

    Severn Trent, however, say they have not located the burst water pipe - which is thought to be behind the water disruption.

    Derby North MP Amanda Solloway has been named in an article by the Daily Mirror, external which cites a number of "stingy" expenses claims by politicians.

    The Tory MP claimed 14p for a 482-metre trip from her constituency office to BBC Radio Derby.

    Police are investigating an attempted robbery, external in the city on Saturday.

    A 24-year-old man was near the bus stop at the junction of Uttoxeter New Road and Drewry Court when he was approached by two men. 

    They threatened him and demanded he hand over his property before walking off empty-handed.

    My fellow cat owners, have a read of this - for the pictures if nothing else.

    I've not been to the cafe in Derby but have visited Kitty Cafe in Nottingham and enjoyed it, although it's a tad expensive for a one-hour stint.

    "I believe that Sukhjit was killed over a dispute over land he owned in India," Mr Rai said. "It's certainly my belief his wife and his friend were not involved.

    "They were a devoted couple to each other. They were very happy within the community, living here and being with us as well."

    A neighbour of Derby man Sukhjit Singh - who was found dead in his bed while on holiday in India - said he believes Mr Singh was killed in a dispute over land he owned in the country.

    Mr Singh's wife, Ramandeep Kaur Mann, is facing charges of plotting the killing with his childhood friend Gurpeet Singh - but Nick Rai does not believe they were involved in Mr Singh's death.

    Charges are expected to be filed in the next few days.

    A man had to be rushed to hospital after an alleged assault left him with a broken jaw.

    Sometime between midnight and 01:00 on Sunday, a man with his friends in Smithy Fold, Glossop, when he spoke to another man.

    The other man approached him and punched him in the face, leaving him with the injured jaw.

    Mid Derbyshire MP Pauline Latham said she would vote herself out of a job in order to back new constituency boundary proposals.

    "I'm keen to reduce the numbers of Members of Parliament... and that's the reason I will vote for it even though it means I would be a casualty," she said.

    "I'd be very sad to do that, I like representing the people of Mid Derbyshire - it suits me down to the ground and I hope it suits the people I represent."
