    The owners of a pharmacy/post office in Hatton have said they've been inundated with messages of support and gifts from the community this week after they were robbed at knife point.

    Two young men walked into the shop on Station Road on Wednesday - one of them threatened staff with a knife. They then got away with a small amount of cash.

    Toyah Manning is a regular customer in the shop and was there when the men came in.

    She said: "I was sat waiting because there was a bit of a queue. The next thing there's two lads running in with knives. While they were getting the money I ran out to the car to ring the police."

    Lindsay said people have brought them biscuits and cards following the robbery.

    She said it's "really nice" that the community has responded this way.

    Organisers of the ancient Derbyshire tradition of "well dressing" have said they are expecting to attract around 35,000 to the event this week.

    The village of Tissington has been well dressing since the 14th century, in what was first thought to be an act of thanksgiving as the whole village survived the plague., external

    Sir Richard Fitzherbert, from Tissington Hall, said: "It puts Tissington very much on the map.

    "The village has about 100 people who live and work in it and this is our showcase of our season.

    "A lot of people flock from all over... internationally as well as nationally."

    Tissington Well Dressing runs until 31 May.

    Blaby District Council has granted outline approval for a new prison at Glen Parva in Leicestershire.

    The planning committee has asked developers for exact details about the new buildings, which are expected to house 1,600 adult prisoners - double the current capacity.

    It comes ahead of a busy bank holiday weekend, which will see thousands of fans travel to Donington Park for the World Superbike Championships.

    Organisers are advising people to stay vigilant, and not let Monday's attack deter them from going to the event.

    More than 100 people gathered in the centre of Nottingham last night for a vigil to remember the victims of the attacks in Manchester.

    Faith leaders, politicians and the county's chief constable were among the crowd.

    Cara Verney, 19, from Beeston, was at the concert at Manchester Arena on Monday and said things like the vigil are helping her come to terms with what happened.

    "It could have gone a lot different [for me]," she told BBC Radio Nottingham.

    "We were very lucky to get out and I think that is why we are here...because it has not really hit us yet."
