Two women in their 70s reported each other missing after becoming separated during an evening stroll near Dovedale.
The pair had agreed to meet at a fixed point but ended up waiting for each other at two different spots.
Derby Mountain Rescue Team took charge, external and the pair were eventually reunited at the nearby Izaak Walton hotel.

Exciting plans for Rolls-Royce workers - an application for a new engine test facility (pictured) has gone in to Derby City Council, external.

George Ford has been "nothing but impressed" with Leicester Tigers team-mate Manu Tuilagi.
Tuilagi, who is set to make his first Premiership start since January, made headlines earlier this summer when he was sent home early from an England training camp.
"I have been nothing but impressed with Manu around the club," England international Ford said.
"He is in good spirits. He just wants to play. He wants to train each week, play at the weekend and we will see the best of him I am sure."

The famous team of daredevils will disband later this month after 90 years.

Police believe the five-year-old boy who died on Wednesday evening had been hit in the head by an air pellet.
It happened just off Nanpantan Road in Loughborough in the early hours of Sunday.
Two people arrested have been released pending further inquiries.
As part of these inquiries, Leicestershire Police said they would like to speak to a group of walkers and rock climbers who were in the area on Saturday.
The force added it would also like to speak to the owner of a car with a French registered number plate that was parked nearby.
