    The team behind Nottingham's bid to become European Capital of Culture is starting a tour of some of the city's busiest markets today.

    They will visit Bulwell where they will ask people for their ideas and opinions before a formal bid is submitted.

    Winning the title could benefit the city's economy by hundreds of millions of pounds, organisers said.

    Fire crews from seven stations were called to a fire at a block of flats in Nottingham.

    It is thought the blaze started on the fourth floor of a nine storey building in Lower Parliament Street.

    Teams from West Bridgford, London Road, Arnold, Carlton, Stockhill, Stapleford and Mansfield attended with crews saying all people were accounted for.

    It happened at about 19:00.

    Here's a look at what's happening on the region's roads:

    • There is queuing traffic and delays of up to seven minutes on the M1 between junctions 21 and 22 in Leicestershire near Thorpe Astley.
    • Congestion in Derby is leading to delays of six minutes on the A52 The Pentagon westbound between Stoney Lane and A61 Sir Frank Whittle Road.
    • There are delays of eight minutes on Derby Road eastbound in Lenton Lane Industrial Estate near Wollaton Hall.
