    Police stopped an erratic driver in Mansfield last night and discovered he was someone they'd been looking for in connection with an alleged sex attack, external.

    As well as testing positive for cannabis and cocaine, the 28-year-old man was also found to be carrying a suspected Class A drug in his car.

    He was arrested on suspicion of seven offences - careless driving, driving without insurance, drug possession, two counts of driving under the influence of drugs, sexual assault and threats to kill.

    Derbyshire's police and crime commissioner says he's astonished the home secretary has told police forces to stop asking for more money.

    Amber Rudd told a conference of chief constables they needed to find new ways of cutting crime without increased funding.

    Labour PCC Hardyal Dhindsa said: "Police chiefs are not asking for more money just for the sake of it.

    "We've had some tough decisions and we've done efficiencies, savings, but eight years of continued under-funding means it cannot carry on."

    A 61-year-old woman from Kirklees has gone missing after a trip to London yesterday.

    She'd been staying in the Huddersfield area and has links with the Leicester area.

    Leicester's Jonny May is set to miss England's opening autumn international against Argentina after sustaining a hamstring injury during the squad's training camp in Portugal.

    This limits Eddie Jones' wing options further with Elliot Daly and Jack Nowell already being ruled out of the majority of the Twickenham programme.

    A group of men threw fireworks into a shop, external before smashing it up with sticks and a baseball bat.

    Police said up to seven men were involved in the disorder at the Top Market store in Sneinton Dale at about 19:45 yesterday.

    There were also reports fireworks were thrown in the street outside the shop.

    The trouble followed a large fight in the same area which saw police arrest two men aged 24 and 29.

    Nottinghamshire Police said further arrests were anticipated.

    A driver was messaging a Nottingham Forest striker shortly before he struck and killed a highway worker on the M6, a jury has heard.

    A man jumped from his moving Range Rover to save himself after being threatened with a gun while taking three men for a test drive, external.

    The 45-year-old was with the trio as they drove the car along Cuttholme Road in Chesterfield when one of them pulled out what he thought was a firearm and threatened him.

    He escaped the car as it approached Ashgate Road but his vehicle was stolen by the men. It happened at about 20:10 on 25 October.

    Children from Radcliffe-on-Trent Junior School have been getting ready for their big Children In Need performance with a little help from Pudsey.

    A total of 233 pupils from nine schools in Nottinghamshire will be gathering at Nottingham's Albert Hall on 17 November to sing a jazz version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

    They're part of a nationwide choir of more than 1,500 children performing the track live as part of BBC One's Children In Need coverage.

    A cordon is still in place at Albert Grove in Lenton where a 19-year-old man was found stabbed this morning.

    Police have mounted extra patrols to reassure residents.
