    The final Electrostar train has rolled off the production line at Bombardier's Litchurch Lane site in Derby.

    It marks the end of an 18-year production run, making it one of the most successful electric trains in the world. The company's produced more than 2,800 units since 1999.

    It's successor, the Aventra, external, is lighter and more energy efficient.

    Richard Hunter, managing director of Bombardier UK, said: "It's seen us through some booms and dips in the market.

    "We've been supported by some great customers who've appreciated what it can do and have continued to order it and put it into service across the UK."

    Two men have been charged in connection with cash machine attacks in the East Midlands and neighbouring counties.

    Charlie Smith, 31, from Mere Lane in Bitteswell, and Alfie Adams, 36, from Bickershaw Lane in Wigan, have both been charged with four counts of burglary and one count of theft.

    The men have both been remanded in custody to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court today.

    The charges relate to:

    • Burglary at the Co-op in Cosby
    • Burglary at the Co-op in Bignal Court in Kettering
    • Theft of a motor vehicle in Nuneaton
    • Burglary at Tesco Express in Hinckley
    • Burglary at the Co-op in Burwell

    Two women, aged 29 and 38, arrested on suspicion of offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act, have been released while inquiries continue.

    An all female choir from Nottinghamshire is singing to protect the lives of other women.

    The Brinsley Community Choir has released this charity single to raise money for the Broxtowe Women's Project, which supports victims of domestic abuse and their families.

    Their song is called Angels and was written by one of the 60 singers in the group aged between nine and 75.

    The five men were allegedly involved in disorder at the game against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday 21 October.

    The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice in the East Midlands between 17:00 today and 10:00 tomorrow, external.

    It said: "Some icy patches are likely to form on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths on Friday evening and overnight into Saturday.

    "There is potential for slippery surfaces and difficult driving conditions."

    Former Derbyshire cricketer Shiv Thakor has been given a three-year community order after being found guilty sexual exposure.

    The 24-year-old was convicted earlier this month of exposing himself to two women at a housing estate in Mackworth.

    The first victim said Thakor "aroused" himself outside a property before exposing himself through a "gap" in his trousers.

    The second woman said Thakor stopped outside the property a week later and exposed himself while she was on the phone.

    At Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court, Thakor was told he would be placed on the sex offenders' register for five years.

    He was sacked by Derbyshire County Cricket Club on Tuesday.

    A 23-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder over a hit-and-run in Leicester.

    It's after a pedestrian in his 20s was knocked over by a car on the Eyres Monsell estate on 7 November.

    Police have said he remains in a critical condition in hospital.

    Police have charged Joshua Horne, from Benting House Road in Leicester, with five offences. They are:

    • Two counts of attempted murder.
    • Causing serious injury by dangerous driving
    • Driving a motor vehicle dangerously
    • Using a motor vehicle without insurance
    • Intent to pervert the course of justice

    Two other men and a woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released while investigations continue. Another man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed.

    To celebrate Black Friday, BBC Three has invited football fans to vote for the sport's best ever bargain signing.

    Among the contenders is Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez. He joined the Foxes for a paltry £400,000 in January 2014 and went on to become a star performer in the club's unlikely title win.

    He's got tough competition though - Real Madrid legend Raul didn't cost the Spanish club a penny.

    If you haven't yet heard, today is "Black Friday" - the discounted shopping day that traditionally falls on the Friday after the US celebration of Thanksgiving.

    It's recently become popular in the UK in the build up to Christmas.

    Amazon find themselves particularly busy at this time of year.

    Last year, around 5,000 items were bought on their UK website every minute leading up to Christmas. That works out at around 83 items each second.

    The distribution centre near Coalville has employed about 2,000 extra staff to help with the seasonal demand.

    Manager Nathan Fetherston told the BBC he's been planning for this busy time "almost all year" and everyone at the site is "ready for what may come".

    Derbyshire Police says dealing with fracking protests and organising extra armed patrols after terror attacks has contributed to a predicted overspend for the current year.

    The force said it had also spent more on overtime than had been expected.

    It said it plans to use £1.3m from its reserves to make up the difference.

    Labour held on to their Leicester City Council seat in the Eyres Monsell ward overnight with Elaine Pantling being elected.

    A by-election was prompted by the resignation of Rory Palmer, who now sits in the European Parliament.

    The Conservatives were beaten into third place by the Liberal Democrats.
